I've been having a ton of issues getting TRS (and diggnation) to stream to my PS3. It worked like a champ, it seemed, back when we had firmware 2.1. I had TVersity setup to download the podcasts and it'd play through them with no stutter or errors. Then the nightmare of firmware 2.2 started and everything stuttered. I dealt with it and I guess it's supposed to be fixed on 2.3, but now everything has issues.

TVersity has issues even showing up for me, so what I did was setup FeedDemon to download the podcasts to my PC to a folder monitored by Windows Media Player which is setup as a UPNP streaming player for my PS3. TV shows I download off the net work fine but last night I tried out last week's TRS and it was working great until about 10 minutes in when I get an error 80028801.

I figure I'll just try copying the file local to the PS3, but I also get that error pretty quickly by just fast forwarding the show. It'll play fine for a little while or I can just FFWD and it'll pop up the 80028801 error.

I'm getting the large WMV versions of the show.

Anyone been successful streaming TRS or diggnation to their PS3 and if so, how?? It seems like I should be able to play them via the WMP without having to transcode, but it just doesn't work reliably.

Hey! I'm Top_Shelf on PSN btw... To watch the shows, I pull up the PS3 web browser, cruise on over to revision3.com and navigate to the show page of the show I'd like to watch... because of a css / ps3 issue, the right column is way on the bottom of the screen, but I scroll to that and then hit triangle on the large quicktime file... I click on save .. or something (can't remember) and let it save to the hard drive...

works like a champ... I should note that I couldn't get the 1up show quicktime to work and the WMV file does -- meh, different encoding methods I suppose and the ps3 is picky but i love my ps3. TRS has been showing more and more love for the PS3 lately too. :D

streaming should work too, but I just figured this was easier than have two "computers" do the job that one (the ps3) should be able to do -- I just can't wait until they have the ps3 setup so i can subscribe to my rss feeds / podcasts.

As Top_Shelf pointed out, the large and small quicktimes are our "officially supported" PS3 option. Please let us know if that option works.

And yes, OMG yes, the PS3 is one picky little runt of a machine when it comes to codecs.

noahphex, I was having the stuttering problems too with the quicktime. I switched to the large wmv and it's been working pretty good. Instead of downloading the files and then streaming them to the PS3, I just use the rss feed to stream them from the internet to the PS3. It seems like a good setup.

My solution to this has been to setup FeedDemon (http://www.newsgator.com/individuals/feeddemon/default.aspx) as my RSS reader and have it download the podcasts to my PC, then I copy them locally to my PS3 to play via Twonky (http://www.twonkyvision.de/). No matter what media server I've tried (WMP, TVersity, Twonky (http://www.twonkyvision.de/)) they haven't allowed me to stream the large WMV or Quicktime versions successfully without stuttering. However, if I stream TV shows via my UPNP servers it works just fine. Just not my Rev3 podcasts.

So, I have a solution. Not an ideal one as it's a huge workaround but it's worth it to watch diggnation and TRS.

Supposedly TVersity (http://www.tversity.com) has an RC1 coming out at the end of the month so maybe I can stream via that AND have it download Rev3 podcasts all in one so I don't have a 3 step process to successfully watch a show!
