This is a poll in addition to the thread I created earlier.

Definitely. I found his parts on the show were certainly the funniest and most entertaining. He's a good personality for TV (IP or otherwise), and he knows his stuff.

To be honest I've yet to watch indigital, but I saw this topic while perusing the forums and jumped on it. I was never a fan of Wil's until I saw him on fark.com
This will actually get me to catch this podcast. I rarely get out of the geekdrome forum, so thanks for the info.

I like carrots too, but I think Wil is a good addition - if you'd made this a multiple selection poll, then I would have chosen "Wil is good" and "I like carrots".

There was an old message that used to make it's way around the usenet: "The Top Ten Deaths of Wesley Crusher."

Ah, good time....

I think Wil is ok but I do think Andrew Hawn is better though.

If hes the one that did the review on the gp2x then no. it seems like he's trying alittle too hard. What happened to the old cast? I liked them a whole lot better.

Will has a good sense of humor, I think he's a great addition to the show.

Wheaton brings out one of the biggest problems indigital has always had, balancing host personality and interest with the review process.

When the hosts are genuinely interested in a product the conversations and reviews are great, however when they aren't really into it ... it turns into that bad blind date you had last week. (long pauses, forced conversation)

While I agree Wheaton's first showing is a bit rough, his enthusiasm will do indigital mountains of good.

It's strange that people are constantly saying that Wil's delivery is somehow forced and that he is trying to hard. First of all if that is a bad thing then I say remind me to never hire you for anything in life, his geeky enthusiasm could be mistaken for for an eager sense of acceptence but I truley believe that his behavior were genuine. I think that Wil's honesty washes down a well rounded meal that is brought to the table by the wholesome and down to earth Hahn Choi and the subtle touch of feminine sex appeal by Jessica Corbin. If anything Wil's witty and clever banter ads great comical releif to an already great show, Now if they could just dish out regular shows Id be hooked. Keep up the good job guys and dont let anyone sway your decisions.

As I stated in another thread, I think his addition gives the cast a great chemistry. I like him a lot. :)

Wil,

I'm star struck just in general. I liked your earlier web site where you told everyone where to stick it basically (and that's being nice). I know everyone always says ST:TNG and all and I have every season including season 2 which was very unpopular but you know what... Times change People Change and I respect you more and more for all you do. I watch Revision3 not because of who you were but because of what you teach me....Kevin Rose, Wil, Alex, Heather, and even the guy who always posts in forums...thanks...I have learned so much. ok...enough of my rant...I'm going to the TIKI BAR now. :) Take care...and WOW....times change!

Been a fan of Wil's for years. Glad to see him on screen again.
As a newb in the world of gadgets (I like them but I am not as up to the minute as I would like to be) who is married to the Ultimate Gadget Geek (aka Bob) I am glad to have found InDigital.

This show keeps me informed of new products in a way I can understand. I have watched all the episodes and I can say that the new cast is pretty good. It will be nice to see more regular episodes I think and I truly find Wil funny!
The chemistry is great, a little stiff because it is all so new, but I think it is going to meld into a seamlessly fun show in time and I am looking forward to future episodes with all three of them.

Thank you Wil for posting the link on your blog...it is so nice to have an alternative to the crap on G4.

He used to annoy me on TNG and on TechTV..I don't know why but he just did and then EP6 of indigital the forced cursing made it worse BUT on EP7 I liked him as a host as he acted more natural and professional.

Is space nerd Will Wheaton a welcome addition? Of course he is! The evil beard is also very nice.

I discovered InDigital, and Rev3, due to Wil letting his posse know what he was up to on his blog -- @ WWDN -- where I've been reading his stuff for the last few years.

As to is he a "good addition" to InDigital, I'd be happy to say 'duh' -- but my vote isn't gonna come cheap. In exchange for the sugar, Wil must:

1) Do a segment on Online Poker where he shares all his secrets.
2) OR does a segment similar to the "games of our lives" column he did for the Onion.
3) Wears the "Schrodinger's Cat is Dead" t-shirt on a future episode
4) Work in the word, "Guinness," or "grok" at least once an episode.

That's not too much to ask, I reckon.

Seriously, well done Mr. Wil, and all at inDigital!
-Willie.

I'd like to give wil ten billion points for doing this. I don't know the terms, but damn he's a good addition to the crew!

He's fine, but I think he's a bit too earnest to be honest and makes the show come across as a home-made production. Perhaps he needs to call upon his acting skillz and be a bit smoother without interrupting the integrity of his opinions. I like the show, it's good & honest in terms of the content and evals which we all want these tech shows to be but he sticks out a bit too much as the nerd.

I think he's a great addition, and will continue to be so.

His opinions are sharp enough edged (judging by his blog) that I think he'll have great stuff to offer. I very much like his libertarian open-source ideas.

And admittedly I've only seen one episode the Andrew, the first one (episode zero), but he kind of ticked me off. He was okay for most of it, I guess, but he almost sounded annoyed that people were still buying cable packages and all TV wasn't being transmitted on-line. Well, one reason is that the might of the big studios are allied against that, and the other thing is that most of the population doesn't live in downtown Los Angles, and we don't have the network backbone to stream TV to our houses.

Can't wait for more!

Others have noted, and I did when I watched, the awkwardness of the three of them standing and talking about the topics. I agree with you, and I think Wil does it more.

I don't think this is a statement about Wil specifically, it's just that he's far and away the newest host, and it's a different kind of performing for him. He's used to acting with real blocking, with enough rehearsals that you don't have the "what do I do with my hands?" problem. Or reading in front of audiences, where you're the focus and you're not filling in time while other people are doing their thing.

It's a new skill, which Wil doesn't quite have down yet. I think this one will resolve itself in time.

Wil is good by himself, with the others, not so much.

ArmpitOfDeath

Yeah... it's the contrast. Just in that company, Mr Wheaton comes off like the ultra nerd who corners you with his Mac and insistently shows you how cool it is. I love reading what he has to say and purely as a person he seems like a phenomenal bloke, I think he should just turn down the leaning-forward-earnestness dial.

Wil has "Geek" in his blood so I think he'd do really well on any type of show that has to do with "Gizmo's"... :)

Given that Wil can't escape the Star Trek image with some of us then why not use it in a show to compare technology of today with that of the Star Trek universe.
