When trying to watch videos via the flash player, only the audio works. (On Wii)

i use opera on my computer, the same brower that is used on the wii and i just checked for you and i am having no problems. unless some other wii user complains then it would seem to be a issue on your side.
i am assuming you have tried reseting the machine and all the other normal troubleshooting things including the hard reset?

I have no idea what a "hard reset" is.
I have reset the browser and cleared cookies many times.

unplug the wii and hold the powerbotton down for about 30 seconds that is a hard reset

Yeah same issue here.
but I think the problem is the Wii not rev3..wii's browser is using an older flash.
But never fear still a solution.
download one of the smaller formats of the shows to your PC then install orb http://www.orb.com/en
Now using the wi fi stream any media you wish to your Wii.(except HD stuff)
You now have a media hub with the wii.:)
