So... I'm married. In fact, I've been married three times. But I've never been proposed to... it just always seems to come up in casual conversation and the next thing I know I'm married. :D
However, having watched "Mallrats" I know that there are geeky marriage proposal ideas out there... how would YOU propose to the person of your dreams? What's the geeky grand gesture to top them all...?
And you can't suggest proposing at the Circuit City checkout counter at the culmination of waiting in line together for the Wii... that's been taken. :P

I was a geek. I proposed over the breakfast table. I looked at my girlfriend and asked if she'd like to go shopping... for a ring.

I want some guy to propose to me the way Ethan did on Ctrl-Alt-Del. I would cry, it's so romantic in the geekiest way.

I proposed to my wife when we were in college at center court of a basketball game. I arranged it so the program she got at the game was marked on a certain page--as if she'd won a contest or something. So we went down to the floor and the mascot (a big bull) took her out to center court, handed me the ring, and I got down on one knee as the PA announcer provided play by play. There was also a message up on the jumbotron thingamabob. It was all very 80s.

I'm going to propose by putting a ring in a glass of champagne.
Or by throwing a sign over a cow, somewhere where she'll see the cow.
I got it all planned out.

There's a play in NYC were they'll make a special Martini. They'll also sell you the ring. It's sort of a package deal.

I proposed to my ex-fiancee at our favorite Mexican restaurant. They made us a special table upstairs with roses and everything. She realized it was coming because we were all alone in a section they never used, so we were both so nervous we didn't eat half our meal. While it was romantic, I should have planned it better to put more of the surprise aspect into it.
