Anyone know what Video Editing Apps are used to edit Diggnation? More in particular, the program used to put a ticker at the bottom (like when they put a plug in).

Read this: http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/showcase/index.cfm?event=casestudydetail&casestudyid=393858&loc=en_us

For the ticker or any on-screen objects, you can use a combination of Photoshop and Premiere Pro.

I also herd them say, they use Final Cut Pro. On a diggnation ep, not sure witch one tho.

Yeah, a while back, they mentioned what kind of software was used, the lighting, etc.

That means I would have to go Apple.

Once you go Mac, you don't go back..

Well.. that is not true.. some people do.

The problem with the Apple line is cost. Oh, and I need to be able to run at least one Windows program, work related. That adds to the cost. My current desktop would not be able to run Premiere but a quick look at Dell's site showed that I could get a decent desktop for less then a MacBook Pro, the minimum needed to run FinalCut Studio. If it ran on a Mini, I would be at the Apple store in the AM. The iMacs just don't do it for me.

I use LiveType for the episode # during the graphic open and then the rest is a combo of FCP and Photoshop. Super basic setup. I'd like to use Motion or After Effects during the intro if they get more crazy with it but I never have that kind of time. Thought about doing some FCP basic tips/tricks or just how to jump into real quickly sometime in the future. Saw a few requests in the forums awhile back but we'll see - bit hard to find the time.
Oh - yeah, not quite 32 apps. But - I do also use Paparazzi and iShowU to get screen grabs and video grabs for the stories.

http://youtube.com/user/emeek77 is a good tutor. He gives tutorials on FCP, motion 3, final cut express, color and lots more.

Since I come from a world of Avid and Premiere Pro, I like to watch his videos just to get the basics down. Getting a MBP this summer. Fuck yeah!

Peace out

Yeah, that was a suggestion for a REV3 Gazette episode... :(

^ Agreed. Also, that wouldn't take too much time off of your hands. I do however think many of the viewers would get angry. "Why the fuck are they putting out tutorials when we want to see fruit club3".

But, ishowu and a liiiiiiiiiitle explanation on how effects work. No need to explain vanishing points since Bert Monroy does that very well.

Could you combining photoshop and FCP.

"They see me trollin'".

Final Cut can run on a mini.

The specs for Final Cut Studio says:"Final Cut Studio is not compatible with integrated Intel graphics processors". Final Cut Pro is no longer listed on the Apple web site. The Mini uses an Intel GMA 950 graphics processor, which is integrated.

I've seen a mac mini running FC... perhaps an older version.
