My Alternative Picnic Extravaganza

So, the picnic should be getting started right about now. It's probably a bright, sunny day in Southern California. The smell of hotdogs on the grill, do tofu-mushroom patties have an aroma? That distinctly twangy sound of rubber ball being kicked across a field...

...whereas here in Chicago it's a damp, cold, gray day.

SO! As promised, I'm going to have my own little picnic in the park! I got me the finest plastic bottled fifth of gin you can buy at a Seven Eleven, a fistful of slimjims, and I'm gonna head on down to the playlot down the block and try to get little kids to push me on the swings, until I eventually fall off, piss myself and get beaten and robbed, before eventually waking up, sometime after midnight, with my pants around my ankles and no shoes on, in a puddle of my own vomit and tears.

I bet I have more fun!!

So, what are the other non-SoCal dromers doing today in lieu of the elitist picnic? I'd share pictures of my outing. But i'll preemptively say the camera got stolen.

I'm going to finish masturbating, take a shower, run up to work to check out next weeks schedule, hit up a Circuit City then later go wait in line for a Wii at Wal-Mart. I just finished attending a A/V seminar, now I'm doing a little homework and watching BSG Season 2, and later I'll be getting my dad to pay off the rest of the Wii games and gear I pre-ordered (already paid the console off), and then I'm going to pick it all up at midnight.

I'm very lonely, so am going on a date tonight with some guy I met online last night. The guy I as dating seems to be blowing me off, which is very upsetting since I really like the guy. So I'm distracting myself with someone else.

I'm also trying to forget the holidays and my birthday coming up.

I did some vollunteer work at my college's Open House today. Gave tours of the college to visitors. Had to dress up all fancy and whatnot too. My feet are killing me.

I waited in line 9hrs for my Wii and got the 19th out of the 20 they had. It sucked at first because when I was at the store I had no intention of lining up right then but there were people with tents and shit so I went ahead and got in line on the way back out to my car... extremely unprepared for the cold weather ahead.

Luckily though we had plenty of hot food being shared, great geek company from some cool adults and college/highschool kids, and there weren't any real problems until the very end when the issue of one system per person came up which is not a store policy but the line adopted it for the one guy buying two consoles. I stood up for him and his three kids who had been 3,4,5,6th in line and he got the two he came for. Overall it was a great alternative picnic day. I hope your Wii line stories had happy endings too.

I played some FF12. Whacked it. Worked out for 2 hours. Showered. Went to a friends house and watched Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. Perused awful LA actors headshots. Got some Pad Sei-Ew. Saw my friend's production of House Of Yes. (Which was disturbingly too close to home... except for the yucky incest parts) Stood in line for the Wii. Went home. Slept. Went to work way too early.
