While I have enjoyed most of the Devil's Due GI Joe material, I am hoping a change of company will revitalize the franchise. Also with the deal, IDW gets full access to all previous material including reprint rights to all of the Marvel run. It would be great to see them do a full trade series of the Marvel books, even if it is in an Essential/Showcase format.

I have my fingers crossed that there will not be a reboot. I have collected America's Elite in trade and would not like to read another re-tread.

I am hoping that they stick with current continuity as well. For one I have close to 300 issues of reading invested in the current story line and have few if any complaints on that rich history.

Also, as GI Joe Reloaded showed, it is a hard continuity to relaunch effectively.

Going from what I heard, they are keeping the continuity. They've been talking about this for a while.

Please note though, I'm not a GI Joe reader, I just have stumbled across these news stories quite a bit recently.

A new interview just came up on Newsarama with IDW about the Joe License.

It looks like the continuity question is still up in the air, but they are planning on reprinting everything. Lots of other interesting info in there as well. Also it looks like Larry Hama will be involved in some capacity.

The reprints of old material is even more exciting than the new ongoings. Finding a run of the old Marvel issues is not easy or cheap.

Especially finding the final Marvel issue, 155. I finally had to buckle down a few years ago and pay $50.00 on Ebay for it and at the time that was a bargain.

I don't read GI Joe, but I'm definitely interested in collections of the Marvel stuff. I would actually welcome an Essential style format, because I'd love to read the whole series, but I can't see myself buying 20+ six issue trades. Five or so phone book size collections would be much more reasonable to me. I doubt they'll do that, though.
