From http://www.ps3fanboy.com/2008/05/30/brett-ratner-could-be-working-on-god-of-war-movie/
"[Ratner] also mentioned that he might be working on a movie adaptation of the video game God of War."
That's from the original article, which has disappeared already.. Hmm.
Currently, Ratner is producing a commercial for the Guitar Hero series.
I sure hope it's not this one. (http://revision3.com/forum/showthread.php?t=19156)

Ratner doing a movie that would require visual skill?
Surely not.

If it was anything like that Guitar Hero ad on the other thread I linked to, then I'd pay to see it. That'd be hillarious. A different hillarious than Uwe Boll.

My vote would've been for someone like Zack Snyder (spelling?) or someone with talent.

I dream of having a Ridley Scott Metroid film and a Peter Jackson Zelda movie but since it will never happen I hope the Metroid Woo license stays in development hell and Zelda never gets made.
All we ever get from game films is some crappy director who does not take the project serious messes with it and turns out crap.:(

I have to disagree here. This is the kind of thing Ratner is perfectly suited for: vacuous star vehicle sequels requiring no particular visual style or personality.
And considering he's already made four (very poor) sequels in his career I guess even he knows it too.
