Are we going the wrong Foot Fist Way? Will Age of Conan make us say WoW? Dan wants to go to Australia. Plus, which of us is most Wii Fit?

Awesome show!

WiiFit review was amazingly refreshing and hilarious! You guys should do more hands on reviews in the future! Loved seeing your instant reaction to the game captured right there on video. Its so much more refreshing than hearing you talk about your responses days later.

Keep up the totally awesome work. I'll try and find ya'll on AoC!

Wiifit review is awesome.

The same team that developed SKate is doing Skate it for the Balance board and a cel shaded stylized version of Shaun White.

Also *takes note to never play wii fit with Dan*

Awesome show! Mostly because of the Wii Fit stuff. We need more of that hands-on stuff :)

I totally used to play those kind of games with my sister: skipping from pillow to pillow and the carpet was the lava; superhero Danny T. like games, all of it.

Great show! Wii Fit review was definitely the highlight of the show, made me want to buy it. I'd never even heard of Foot Fist Way, but . . . Oh, well.

And thank you Steve for the hilarious Haze pop-ups.

Another excellent show. As others have said the Wii Fit hands on inpresions were the highlight of the episode, and now me and my friends want to get one. Let's hope none of them have the same reaction as Dan.

Might pull out the track and feild matt and give it a go.

Dan: it's WW2. Set when the Japanese bombed Darwin (biggest city in the North of Australia), the closest Australia has come to being invaded since it was colonised 200+ years ago. And yes, we're a country.

Loved this episode! If you didnt like Foot Fist, but was into Napoleon Dynamite, you should check out 'Eagle Vs. Shark'. The movie was really funny...would love to see the guys review it if they have not already [I'm a new fan and am in the process of viewing the back-shows].

Great show this week. It seemed like one of the those episodes where everyone was getting along great and you all were having a lot of fun. I especially enjoyed the Wii Fit segment.

One critique though - No LOST finale discussion? EPICNESS OCCURRED (though not as good as last years imo). I hope it was just because of you all having to record earlier because of Alex.

Okay, you finally got me. This is the first intro I don't have a clue about.

And Danny, the music cue is called 'Ecstacy of Gold'. And I'm actually appalled that it's being used in the trailer for a movie that looks as shallow, bloated and pointless as everything else Luhrman has done.

In response to your review of Age of Conan...

EverQuest 2!

1. Combo procs span across the entire group, not just your character...so everybody contributes to the combo

2. Awesome voice acting (christopher lee, heather graham, etc)

3. public cities are only instanced when that city reaches its maximum capacity of players, then an additional instance of the city is created

everquest 2 is such a great game, if you like mmorpg's you should definitely try it. but i'm a bit biased since i got hooked on mmo's with eq1

ps jeff, you can fight from mounts too :)
and player housing...

I wish they would do a review of Perfect World....it just came out of open beta. Initially I started playing because I'm too cheap and I dont want to pay a monthly fee. It has some really neat features and its just generally fun to play and the partner riding system and hoist cuddle stuff is cool too.

I'd blocked that atrocity from my memory, I'm happy to say. But I should have twigged to it when Danny said "Valeria".

That movie blew.

Great show guys! Loved the email. It's so weird that people can grow up all over the country and still have such similar experiences in their childhood. I remember making a sheet of all the super powers my friends and I would have the next day on the bus every afternoon and then the whole first recess would be an epic storytelling battle!

It was SO much fun...but I think that was the reason I HATED D&D the one time I tried to play. I wanted it to be more like that.

Thanks for the Conan review. Just one comment. Alex should continue playing before he writes it off. Reviewing it and stopping playing without passing the first 20 levels in AoC is like reviewing Call of Duty 4 based on the training mission.

The first 20 levels of AoC don't take very long and are more to just introduce you to your character. The game gets much more complex and in my opinion really only starts at level 20. Maybe they should have made the training only 10 levels so people didn't get the impression that it was like that for the whole game.

Anyway, looking forward to the TRS Guild. In my opinion, this kicks WoW's butt in both gameplay, story, social aspects, items, quests, graphics, etc etc etc. I cannot see any reason to play WoW after seeing this game.

And I disagree with Alex about the instancing thing. At first it frustrated me, however, if you play past level 20, you will realize it is because you can choose to enter each area as either normal or epic depending on your skill and whether you are in a group. The instances have a practical reason rather than a bandwidth reason. And after playing with it for a few levels, it makes sense and I like it. I mean really, wasn't riding the air travel in WoW just a different way of doing load screens anyway?

Looking forward to hearing Jeff and Dans more thorough review at a later date. I also hope Alex wil lgive it more time before he writes it off.

DY the way, the voice acting stops except for your "destiny" quests. Just so you know. I got sick of it pretty quick and almost never waited for them to finish speaking.

Hey Jeff, don't feel bad about Wii Fit calling you fat. The system measures BMI, or the "Broken Mass Index." BMIs are notoriously inaccurate in their results. Since BMI only measures your mass relative to your height, it is incapable of distinguishing between body fat and muscle. If Wii Fit was calling you fat, then it would have called Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, obese.

Still, the end of that segment did leave me with a question. Alex said that none of you guys really go to the gym, yet you [Jeff] seem awfully buff for a presumed couch potato. What's the deal?

Other than that, this was yet another awesome episode. Loved the Conan parody, as well as when Dan broke the show...again.

Good times, and good episode. Really interested in that wii fit board catching cheaters. I know it's a bit anal but I hate wiimote cheaters. Those slimy bastards.

A pet peeve though; Danny, Danny, Danny... when a conversation is going on, it is polite to pay attention and not to retort with a sarcastic "I'm here!" when it comes your turn. It was really off putting to see you being disinterested in the middle of the segment.

Australia looks like a good film, but I am very cautious because I hated, hated Moulin Rouge! I stopped the film halfway through the movie and took it back to Blockbuster to demand my money back. I am always surprised when people say they liked it (though I seem to be in the minority). I'd actually be surprised if Jeff likes the movie (being the Brit loving guy he is). I was completely taken out of the film with the terrible redone music. They ruined the songs. I must say that it was a visually stunning movie. This crazy lame review was brought to you buy a guy who liked Across the Universe (yes, I did).

So Jeff, avoid Moulin Rouge, because it is the plague. :)

It's usually my policy to delete these spoilers less than 24-hours after release.

However, as Jeff has responded, I won't do that.

I'm happy to see that they've included a Conan movie in their Homage. It was a little disappointing that they chose the lesser of the two.

Especially after my submission (http://revision3.com/forum/showpost.php?p=122680&postcount=1). *sob*

Epic intro fellas. I liked seeing Wii Fit. I actually have it, but still haven't opened it, because I'm not sure if I'll play it. I feel like going to the gym 5x a week + playing wii fit may take up too much of my time. Have fun in NYC guys.

The email question about inventing games was great. It reminded me of a game I had not thought about in so long.

When my friends and brothers and I were little one of the things we would play with were Nerf guns. But there is really only so much you could do with these, and it always seemed to get boring fairly quickly. Well... my sick, twisted little 11-year-old-mind must have seen way too many movies, because I invented a game we could play with the Nerf guns called "Hostage."

In "Hostage" one person would don a ski mask (or something like this) and have one of the Nerf guns, of his choosing, and he would be the armed gunman. One of our bedrooms was the bank, and everyone else was either bank tellers or innocent patrons. One person (the security guard) was allowed to have a gun hidden in the room somewhere. There was also a sock full of quarters (the money) which the bank robber would attempt to get. So he would attempt to get the money by a combination of rummaging around the room, threatening people ("tell me where the money is or I'll shoot your friend in the head, right now!"), torturing people (by shooting them in their limbs and such), executing people, and making sure "no one tried to be a hero." The rest of them would try and get the hidden gun or wrestle the gun out of his hands when his back was turned, to foil the robbery. There was a whole system of points and everything to punish people for dying early, etc, to encourage everyone to play as though they were really being held hostage. I look back on that and think, man that was a disturbing little game we played.

I'd like to know if the guys keep up on Wii Fit in like a month or two, or if their Balance Board starts collecting dust.. Cuz I think that'd happen to me, given how annoyingly repetitive Big Brain Academy got after the first three hours.

One of the most entertaining episodes yet!

Regarding the email question: One of the games I remember making up as a youngster was "Haunted House". Basically I turned our whole house into a giant board game using colored index cards as the spaces and stuffed animals as markers. Along the way you could randomly get attacked by monsters (I think by rolling a specific number and then drawing a card), but the main combat took place where the path of index cards came to an end in each room. Essentially you drew a card (I went through A LOT of index cards) which had a monster on it that you had to fight somehow using various items picked up along the way (more index cards with things like "garlic" or "proton pack" drawn on them) to increase your ability against specific types of monsters. Some rooms had "secret passage" spaces to be able to jump to a different room. I think the objective was to clear the house by defeating a monster in each room, and the first person to do that won. I'm sure there are other rules I'm forgetting (it was about 2 decades ago, after all) but that's the gist.

-Roy

PS- See you in NYC.

awesome ep as always...

We used to play "killer robots" when we were little...there were four of us. I am the oldest so the next brother down would team up with me so the youngest two were the targets...

we would shut off all the lights in the house and then Jes and I would each grab a pair of flashlights and hold them up to our eyes...my other brother (randy) and my sister (holly was the youngest) would run and hide before we "activated." We'd then flip the flashlights on and make hydraulic noises as we walked, stomping of course, and Jes would go even farther and make these wierd clicking noises like a friggin alien that would freek out the youngest two (laughing at memory)...we'd walk into a room they would be hiding in, and of course I'd see my little sister barely hidden just out of my flashlight eye sight - trembling because she was completely terrified. Our youngest brother, Randy, would also be hidden, but under a pile of dirty clothes. Jes would also see Holly just out of his vision so we would pretend to look around the room, giving them false hope so they would think we'd go off to the next room... we'd scan around the bed and dresser until Jes would turn to me and lean close, making those creepy ass robot noises that would make me laugh because it would always make my little sister start scrambling for something to hide her better....and that's when we'd turn our heads towards her really fast, both of us shining our flashlight eyes on her at once. Her eyes would bug out and she would lock up, screaming in absolute fright...and when i say scream, she screamed so loud it hurt our ears...and she'd be so frightened she would try to turn away but couldnt' pull her eyes off us as we closed in...and then she would kick and struggle as we tickled her until she laughed so hard she couldn't breath. That's when the pile of dirty clothes would explode and Randy would be gone, leaping and jumping, bouncing off the walls and the bed like a ninja...and he'd also have this terrified look on his face but he wouldnt make a single sound, not a one! As Jes tickle-tortured our sister, I would step into the hall and shine my flashlight eyes down the hall to only catch a foot in my sights as Randy jumped into the next room, a few dirty socks left in his wake...so i would stomp my way to the room he went in and shine my flashlight eyes in a scanning pattern, seeing him just out of my vision pressed against the wall with arms and legs spread out, eyes wide, pale in fright, chest rising and falling quickly so he looked like a god damn tree frog...(laughing again)...I'd wait until our sister stopped laughing and Jes would run towards me really fast making a quicker hydraulic sound, and he would run like a damn T-Rex to let our little brother know there was a faster model after him this time...and of course Jes would lean close to me and we would make our robot "conversation code" voices until we both turned our heads in unison, shining our flashlight eyes on Randy...and again, Randy would get this super human speed and agility, dodging through us as we tried grabbing him while holding our flashlights in one hand, laughing at his uncanny ability to become unstoppable when scared...and we'd run him down in the living room and he would fight us to the last until he was finally tickle tortured like our sister.....and then we'd walk off and deactivate - waiting to start all over again.

the next time we'd do it, we'd find them, but then jes would wander off while I hid in the next room with my lights off...until randy and holly tried creeping away, then I'd quick turn both flashlights on, catching them both in the light while making robot noises.....holly would instantly freeze, scream, and finally crumple in frighht before randy paused for only a microsecond before jumping away like a deer...

god i miss being a kid

My bro and I would play "diffuse the bomb", where we would screw a bunch of junk and wires together and fashion a "bomb". (sometimes my step dad would help out, making it almost impossible to undo) Then we put my moms kitchen timer in the middle and we had to take everything apart with "professional explosive diffusing tools" (aka known as screwdriver, pliers, etc. :D) before it went off. It was F***ing tense! We would get so into it. We were always saving the world.
We also turned our basement into a submarine frequently.
Ahh, to be a kid again!

Sequal sucked so bad, first film was great and was better just for the fact Arnold had one spoken thing in the whole movie and ended with "to hell with you" then kicked ths shit out of a bunch of guys.(rad)

Then they decided to let him talk in the second and back then it sounded like ..hmm not sure how to describe in text (can make the sound myself) ..well best I can say (and might sound offensive to some so apologies if anyone is offended in advance) an Austrian with down syndrome yelling jibberish.

Could be worse I guess(Hercules in NY..eek)

Me, my brother, his friend, my cousin and my neighbour used to play Jaws. Basically we would string up sheets at waist height around he room and 4 people would walk around the room while one person played the shark. They would creep around under "water" and grab people by the feet, taking them down (loads of banged heads and crying). Also, when we had a bunch of trees cut down in our back yard, we basically had a jungle of branches and logs and bridges etc that we would play Predator in. We used to do the bit where Dutch holds on to the bottom of the log while the predator walks across it. Pretty dangerous now when I think about it. If the tree slipped it would have totally squashed someone. Add to that the fact that there were all sorts of weird bugs and spiders in there.
I also used to put on these big shows for my parents and their friends. I'd use my younger brother and his friends as actors. They'd reherse the whole thing and I'd be telling them what to do and everthing. When the actual performance was on I'd hide in the corner or behind a speaker or something. My brother's mate did his ankle doing a cartwheel in the loungeroom hitting it on the lounge.

A friend and I would play something like the superhero powers that Jeff mentioned, but we would draw on a sheet of paper the cockpit of these armed cars with lots of weapons and power and played it out like Jeff's game. I never thought other people would play similar games.

Apart from that I remember when I was little that my parents bought a new refrigerator and they let me and my sister keep the huge box. Man! we transformed and painted that big box into a car, a submarine....so much fun with just a carton(cardbox? I don't recall the word in english) box. Later on I got a Nintendo and no more outdoors games....

Regards,
Felipe

I loved watching your Wii Fit review. I know a few people that have it and they love it.

I do yoga in a studio, and wanted to give a tip on doing tree pose. Your foot should be either on your calf, or above the knee on the inner thigh if you're more flexible. You could hurt yourself if you have your foot resting on your knee in this pose. It was hard to tell in the video where your foot was Jeff, but just a FYI so you don't hurt yourself.

Jeff looked different on this episode...was it the hair? It's bugging me.....

Anyhoo, he looked good as always (so did Danny and Alex). and I'm not saying that to combat the whole Wii Fit segment because I just got to that part...but whatever, Wii Fit don't know jack.

Great episode (so far, because I'm stuck on Jeff's appearance...it's the shirt! I think....)

Btw, I hated Moulin Rouge with the heat of a thousand suns...the only movie I almost walked out of and I sat through Powder...and I saw it at the $1 theater. Baz L. is so overrated to me, but Hugh Jackman might pull me in.

I wound up seeing foot fist way in theaters and really enjoyed it. I'm kind of surprised you all had such an adverse reaction to it.

Just curious, did you guys see it in theaters or watch screeners of it? It wonder if seeing it in a theater setting with other people laughing might have helped.

I admit the final few minutes of the movie were kind of stupid though. It feels like they didn't know how to end the film.
