This might be dumb, but how many times have you beat a game and just had no one around at the moment to outlet that joy too. So here is a place that can exist and all you have to do is search for w00t and you can post up your latest gaming achievement and maybe even spark a small discussion about that game.
So ill start.
w00t i finally beat Puzzle Quest on the DS! What a great game. I think in its own way its one of the best games i have played. Its not flashy or a next gen game with over the top graphics or anything else. The thing about puzzle quest, and let me be clear im talking PQ on the DS, is that you can just pick it up and put it down. Now i LOVE big games, GTA4 is perhaps my fav game of all time on the console cause there is just so much to do, i play it almost daily still. But PQ is the perfect game for when your in the bathroom, when your standing in line, when you have 5 or 10 minutes to kill... or 30-60 min cause you just want to beat one more quest ! But to have something that i can pick up at a moments notice, that i can carry with me every where i go and flip that lid shut and not worry about opening it up and having a situation spring on me that i need to be in a groove for is awesome.
So not to ramble... PQ on the DS is the bomb. If you have a choice to get this game on the DS dont get it on your xbox or your pc, get it on the DS. It becomes so much more then just a neat puzzle game when you can pick it up and jump in or out at a moments notice.

PQ is on the PSP as well, and it's also on the Wii and PS2. I prefer my PSP version to the Wii version for the very reason you state. :)
Congrats on your victory!
It's a good thread idea, as I usually finish games when the wife is at work, so... Yeah, I'll try to remember this thread when I finish Ratchet... Gotta stop playing the Battlefield demo first, though. ;)

Great thread idea!
Anyone remember those old "Achieve the Glow" commercials Nintendo used to put out? It was like a person playing the old GBA on a bench or at a dinner table and everyone is ignoring them, then all of a sudden the person gets this huge grin on their face and starts grinning, and everyone starts to cheer. That is this thread.
So my most recent "glow moment" was when my guild finally defeated Gruul the Dragonkiller in World of Warcraft. I'm sure many of you don't understand what an achievement that is, and I know there are people who think killing Gruul is no big deal, but for my guild it was a HUGE deal, and I was so excited but there was no one in the room with me to cheer with...

Oh no,i understand. I quit WoW a long time ago, about MC, but i did indeed go very far into EQ. I remember completing my Vesheen Peaks Access quest ( the old grueling one, not the new easy one ) with camps clocking in at 7 hours and one 16 hours of straight camping ! That moment of achievement when i finally walked into that place... That was a glow moment :)
Conga rats to your achievement ! Im so tempted to play WoW again. I wish i had friends to play with in there, i would probably start it up again. Well maybe, i kinda think also that since im gone i might wanna stay gone lol.

Can you suspend it on the PSP ? I want a PSP so i love them, but the big thing for me is being able to close that lid on the DS and open it back up and its right where you left it. No quitting no nothing. I mean i have actually played this game while driving. Stop at a light, flip the lid, make a move or 2 then light changes and flip it closed and go.
btw, you can post when you finish the BF demo ;)

Yup. PSP can suspend any game at any point. Just slide the power switch and don't hold it. To fully power it off, including exiting any game in progress, you have to hold the power switch for a few seconds. :)
I already finished the single-player level of BF:BC demo (three times). So yay!
The multiplayer doesn't have an ending though, and that's where my time is going. :)

I hate that switch being there! I'm always afraid that I'm playing and I'll accidentally slide it to go into standby.
I finally beat the last level in StillAlive DS (not the advanced levels). That one was a bitch because it was nothing but jumping! My thumb wouldn't forgive me after that one.

It's a pretty fun and works as you'd imagine. A ton of levels with the game plus quite a few downloadable (or play straight from wifi) levels already. Though, since downloadable levels can be created by anyone (via PC), there the chance at bad level designs and what not.

Beat two games today.
Half-Life Episode 2: It was awesome. I can't believe I've waited so long to play the series, and now that I beat Ep. 2, the third one just can't come soon enough. The ending really surprised me. I read reviews of the game and remember hearing that there'd be emotion tugging moments in the game, but was not expecting it to end the way it did. The battles were epic too.
Beyond Good and Evil: Great game. It actually froze on me near the end game. I have the PC version and apparently it's a common problem, so I'm glad I got my save file fixed. No way was I going to play through it all again after all that. Anyhow, the game was shorter then I was expecting, but I had a fun time playing it. Really loved the cinematic feel to the game. I was disappointed that the ending didn't really lead up to the sequel teaser, but I am excited for more.

Recently finished Assassin's Creed for PS3. Its not a great game and i hated the story (alot really, couldnt care less. Stopped playing attention to cutscenes half way through) but i absolutley LOVED the gameplay. It really saved it for me! Yes it was repetitive but i had soooo much fun along the way and the final parts with all the fighting, loved it.
Finished the main-story in GTA4 too. Great game and great story-telling!

Just finished GTA4 a few days ago. What a incredible game. To think i almost didnt buy it cause it just looked like a over violent game aimed at kids. The story in this game is so detailed and draws you in so deep that there was times i actually had to put the controller down, sit back on the couch and really think about what my next choice was. Not because its a hard decision, but cause it was a morally challenging decision. People say this game sets a new benchmark in gaming and i have to agree. I look forward to more games just like this, even if its just a new plot slapped on to the game basically. I really look forward to a sci fi game like this. Which was probably mass effect, but i dont have a xbox so thats a bummer for me.
So w00t ! Finished GTA4.

This isn't a recent game beating, but this thread is a great idea, and I didn't get to beam about it back then.
See, I had a Sega Master System. I don't know about the other owners of the SMS, but back when I first got it, right up until it was pushed to the back burner for the SNES, I never beat a single game on that system. I think the problem is that the game followed the "next level has more bad guys and is faster" pattern, and that started to get boring for me.
But one of my favorite games on that system was Wonder Boy III: The Dragon's Trap (http://www.allgame.com/cg/agg.dll?p=agg&sql=1:1794). Well, about 4 years ago when I was in college, I finally beat it. It essentially took me about 15 years to beat the game.
Then there's Ghost House. Has anyone here played Ghost House for the SNES? That is by far the hardest game I have ever played. I only got to the second level ONE TIME!

It took me a few tries. I swear, the computer opponent knows what's going to drop from off screen, since they usually can pull a 3 of a kind and have a series of 4s drop on me.
oh, and people need to realize there's a game called PQ on the PSP...stop shortening Puzzle Quest.

Stuck where?
Just finished up God of War on the PSP. Still shocked that they managed to fit a PS2 experience on the PSP so well. Of course, GoW's fixed camera makes it perfect for the PSP. So now I'm extremely pumped up for GoW3. HOPEFULLY they'll tease it at E3.
Close to beating FF7: Crisis Core, but I'm addicted to the side missions. They're repetitive and I'm starting to hate how long it's taking to get 100%, but I'm damn addicted to doing them all.

Evidentally the secret is to whine on a forum about how you can't do it. I beat it and the last two normal levels right after posting. I'm going to do the advanced levels in short one level bursts, I think. I'm moving back to Professor Layton, Crisis Core and MGSIV.

Yeah, I picked it up because some people on another forum said it was great, and it was only $20. I will get around to it, as I liked the demo.. Just I'm never sure what difficulty to choose for games like this, as I'm not really good at aiming yet, but I don't want it to be super easy either.
In other news, it looks like the ESRB has confirmed the new Ratchet & Clank Future: Quest for Booty game. Not sure if it's a full retail game or just a downloadable PSN game, but some people seem to think the latter. Either way, I'm interested in that.

Yeah, same here (though I still very much enjoyed it). I don't know why, but I was expecting something drastically different, yet I quickly realized that it's classic GTA but prettier. Guess it's that structure that makes it a GTA game and not something else entirely.

Beat Crisis Core. I wanted to beat all the side missions, but said forget it. I didn't have the patience. The ending was really... weird. I don't know. I didn't really like the story by the end.
Also beat Gears of War finally. It was a cool game, but not as great as everyone praises it as. Though, I haven't played multi or co-op so I've probably missed out on most of the experience. Last boss was definitely tough. Took so many tried to kill him before I realized that there was a Torque bow in the train car checkpoint which made it much easier. I'll probably look forward to Gears 2 so I can get in some co-op when it comes out.

I finally just got around to finishing Metal Gear Solid 4, after breaking to finish Ratchet & Clank Future, Untold Legends, and a few others...
Well, I wasn't a Metal Gear fan before the game, but I can honestly say it was one of the best games I've played. It's not in my top 3, maybe 5, but it's still freaking awesome.
The story wasn't hard to follow, so I don't know why anyone says that.. As someone who had no backstory, I wasn't really confused or bored, except at one part during the ending I didn't understand at first. But it is really minor, all things considered.
Any self-respecting action fan with a PS3 should at least rent the game and try it out, and anyone who had considered buying it but hasn't yet probably should.
I hope nobody crucifies me, but I hope it comes to 360 eventually, as it is a game that everyone should have the chance to play, regardless of console they chose. I say this as someone who will likely never buy a 360, and is glad that BioShock is coming to PS3... Timed-exclusivity, as I've said before, is the ideal for third-party games, as it should be all about the gamers.
There are very few video games that have ever brought tears to my eyes... I can't even think of one, off hand, except perhaps Beyond Good & Evil (can't remember). For someone like me, who is far from being a MGS fanboy, to like the game that much, it's gotta be good.
Finally, a game that lived up to the hype (GTAIV this isn't).
I haven't even touched the online yet, but I probably won't. I'm satisfied with ending my experience here.
I would also submit that this game won't and shouldn't be game of the year. As good as the production values are, as great as the controls are (especially the *** controls!), as engaging as the story is - this isn't a game for everyone, and I think the title belongs to a game that appeals more broadly. My money is set on LittleBigPlanet, unless it launches and is screwed up in some big way, but I can't see that... Sony knows it's a big game to launch, so they're probably going to make sure it's QA'd out the rear.
Wow, I get offtopic alot.
So, as I was saying, I finished MGS4. Yay me... n00b.

So yeah so far Spiderman 3 is a very frustrating game. The camera is absolutely horrid, and there are oh so many glitches. Whats really frustrating though is that when playing it I can see so many things that could or should be so much fun if it just had a little bit more work.

So yeah so far Spiderman 3 is a very frustrating game. The camera is absolutely horrid, and there are oh so many glitches. Whats really frustrating though is that when playing it I can see so many things that could or should be so much fun if it just had a little bit more work.
Here's what you do and it'll save you time and frustration. Stop playing Spider-Man 3. Get a copy of Ultimate Spider-Man and play it. Probably the best spider-man game out there. Awesome plot which is being used in the USM comics now. Combat is better, and playing as Venom is far different. Just an overall better game, good looking compared to SM3. Can't tell people how great it is, and sad that it may never get a sequel at this point with every other Spider-Man game out there.

There is something about GH3 that turns me off to the game. I love it on medium, but when I make the jump to hard it's like a kick in the nuts. GH1 & 2 is a little more easier to progress in levels. 3 just turned me off and I beat it twice on Medium and Devil Went Down to Georgia was annoying enough on Medium. I feel like I'm just downing games left & right. I recommend GH2 if you skipped it before, I really love the songs in it more for some reason as well as slightly more forgiving jumping into harder difficulties.

I really like it, so far. I think it's worth the $60 since it comes with four wireless buzzer controllers, over 5000 questions, online play.. Good times. It's my first BUZZ game though, so I don't know how it compares to the older ones, and I heard the PSP one isn't great.

I'm more impressed already. Those are the reasons I wanted the 360 Scene It! I only have so many controllers and can't afford to spend around $40+ on controllers.

PSP Buzz is okay. Obviously the lack of local multiplayer (I didn't try online) is a downer. But I oddly love the quiz type games. Forgot that it came with the buzzers, so definitely adds to the price point.

I had been excited about Scene It for 360, then picked it up and thought it was mediocre. Shortly afterwards I played Buzz on PS2 at a friend's house and had an absolute blast. I didn't know you could play the PS3 version online. I will be getting that game. When I do we need to have a TRS-off.

The wife played BUZZ! tonight with me. First we played a couple matches against each other, and then I got her to try the two quizzes that I made at mybuzzquiz.com, and then she wanted to play online.
So, we played and lost pretty badly. It's neat - you play as a team, so either of us could hit the answers with either of the buzzers. Kinda neat how it works like that. They call it Sofa vs Sofa mode.

Just got my PS3 this morning - not bad turnaround time, as I mailed it Wednesday at 5:15pm, and Monday was a stat holiday (Thanksgiving in Canada).
Just finished The Darkness. I was only about 1-2 hours from the end when the PS3 died last Monday.
Great game - gave me lots of feelings that I have only felt while watching Donnie Darko back in the day.. Throughout and even as the credits rolled. I loved it, and I don't know why, exactly.
Not sure what to play now. Maybe Dead Space, or maybe I'll hold out hope for the Resistance 2 beta this weekend.. LBP next week, of course.. Lots of other games coming out too.

Just beat Mass Effect.
What a great game. Great story and environment and really draws you in cause of the choices you have to make. I would like to see even more plot lines play out, but that could take a life time to put in all the choices i would like. Oddly enough i think i would have enjoyed this game more on the console. Im not big into FPS style games on a console, but there is something about the cinematic experience to it and the way you access the weapons that make this a really console friendly game to me personally. I really really hope that mass effect 2 and 3 come to the PS3. I still cant talk myself into getting a xbox, thought im super close.
Ive decided that this is the new gamestyle that i like. This and Grand theft auto 4 have shown me a new level of interaction with modern gaming that i LOVE. Everything else is feeling like a toy compared to these 2 games. Not that its a bad thing they feel like that mind you, just that this is such a engrossing way to play a game. To have the choices you make effect the game and how it plays out and how the game interacts with you is brillant.
The one thing though, that this doesnt have in common with GTA4 is that now that i beat the game its dead. I really wish they had kept it a open world and i could have gone back and done some of the missions i left behind. I know a lot of them tied into the story, but would love to fly around the galaxy and tie up loose ends and stuff. Maybe the next one, i know it would have been a considerable amount more of work.
So yay, finally beat it loved it.

After putting it off for awhile now. I finally finished off Final Fantasy 7: Crisis Core. I don't know how I feel about it. I really enjoyed the story and the game. Some parts were more frustrating. I think the one thing I got from this game is that Cloud isn't that great of a character and Final Fantasy 7 probably needs to be remade and rewritten a little.
Edit: Someone who's beaten the game please PM me. I nearly shat myself at the end and need to talk to someone about it. If you're a fan you may want to get a PS3 or a PSP. Just saying.

Am in the midst of playing through Mass Effect for the second time because I am an achievement whore. Well, that and it's probably the best game I've played on the system yet (got my Xbox last Christmas and have been pouring through all I've been missing - beating Gears now as well.)
Loved the game the first time through, as is to be expecting I've finding the second time through tedious for a couple of reasons. First is that I'm playing through on the second highest level as a biotic which, as highlighted in the TRS review, is the least balanced of the classes. What I'm finding though is playing as the biotic forces you to counter your natural Halo/Gears tendencies. You just CAN'T run and gun. The less I do, the more successful I tend to be. But ALSO I'm replaying the game going for the 75 percent renegade points and finding that, while it's more fun to be a dick-a-saurus, the major parts of the story are unaffected by your dickishness. I mean...where's the choice to JOIN Saren? To bring down the galaxy because of your decisions?
Anyway, I'm hoping I can get through it before Gears 2, Left 4 Dead, and COD:WOW come out. It's that time of year again.
iccanui
10-21-2008, 12:16 AM
Yea i found that out today. There is no real impact as to which way you act. I mean some things are cut off, but its more like the way to the plot point is cut off, not the plot. The story seems to remain the same so far. But i havent been a totaly dick for 1, i mean when a guy is shot i cant just say " leave him ". There is a point where its not fun to play that bad a person. Though i must admit, im not to the points in the story where i had to really sit back and think about the outcome of my choices. I think i only had about 3 of them in the game and they are more to the middle and to the end. So who knows. Might go play right now. Im playing as a neubian bad ass named Shaniqua. Every chance i can take to be a hard ass without being down right cruel im taking.
Either way, the bottom like is that i cant wait for mass effect 2 and the movie and the MMO. If this keeps up anyway. I find with this game its the presentation and style im liking. I think if they just keep feeding us new content thats of decent quality, i can live in this world for a while. But as a good guy ;)

Go get The Warriors on ps2. I completed it on hard 100% recently (didn't unlock anything that I hadn't already unlocked on easy....that I know of :(), but found myself wanting to be back in that game. Luckily you can replay any level, and improve your stats on that level, if need be. I just really enjoy walking around 70's NYC, getting in fights, throwing cops in front of oncoming trains, smashing bottles and bricks on ppl....etc. It's a long game, some levels take a long time and have difficult/annoying requirements to complete.
Want a quick game? Gun the western game on ps2 (although I'd like to hear someone tell me what the PSP version is like). It's beautiful, brilliantly written/voice acted, fairly easy and quick (10-12hrs) game.

The story compelled me, I was really impressed with it, and kept goin. It was kind of easy to beat (except the end), but not so easy to beat, that you were bored beating it. The scenery is gorgeous, the music is gorgeous - and who doesn't want to shoot bow and arrow dynamite sticks onto ppls feet and watch them run screaming, before they blow into little pieces.

Have to say Spider-Man 3 wasn't worth playing past beating for more achievements. My frustration with that game was too much.
BTW: has anyone played the new Spider-Man game. I rented it and played past the first fight against Venom and gave up. How the characters were portrayed were just horrible, camera angle was hard to deal with, fighting on building sides wasn't fun when you fall off easily, and when it froze on me I just said enough. Anyone else feel the same?

After fixing up my PSP screen, I beat Force Unleashed. It's not THAT bad, but for a Jedi, I felt weak at times. Still think light sabers should be able to kill most anything in one hit. And I hate the boss fights. They last 3 times longer than they should. It's epic until my fingers hurt because of all the rapid button pressing. I did like the story and wish I played it on the consoles. Amazon was recently selling the 360 version for $20, but I missed that chance. :( Ah well.
I also beat LBP a while back. Forgot about beating that game actually just because I started playing user levels afterward so it felt like the game never ended. Still haven't gotten around to building more levels because I don't have the time. The time I do have goes to playing more new games.
Up next, try to finish Fallout 3 and Dead Space. Then after school is out, I'll catch up on the good stuff I missed. Though, I'm for sure getting Left4Dead...and maybe Prince of Persia after.

Overall I enjoyed it...main gripes are, as you said, nothing to do now...and the final boss difficulty was a bit much based on the chapter bosses. Oh, and my horse kept disappearing after missions...sometimes leading to long walks (since I didn't see a run option) to find another.
I kept thinking Ned sounded like Kristoferson and MacGruder sounded like hendriksen...then I checked imdb and found out they were. Some familiar names in the main voices.
I would like to see it updated (especially via some sort of sequel), but I understand why people call it Grand Theft Horse.
Oh, and I did key in to some of what needed to be done with the final guy, threw dynamite and whiskey bombs at the things...never thought of the arrows though, even though you only get them near the end.

Yeh, it was, a) hard to figure out what to do with the boss, b)just an intimidating final environment. I spent 20 mins learning how to walk backwards so I could keep an eye on him, his TNT sticks and hopefully line a shot up when he was passing the gashole.
Oh, and my horse kept disappearing after missions...sometimes leading to long walks (since I didn't see a run option) to find another.
Yeh, sometimes they do that. For me, and probbly what you are referring to, it happened alot on bounty hunter missions, after I went way out to find and klll the guy, then I'd be walking. Once you learn where horses are hanging out though, it's easier. He jogged lightly, not much running.
I kept thinking Ned sounded like Kristoferson and MacGruder sounded like hendriksen...then I checked imdb and found out they were. Some familiar names in the main voices.
I thought that's who they were, it wasn't until Tom Skerritt showed up that I knew there were real people in the game, that made me go check out their names. I liked the voice of Jenny too.
I would like to see it updated (especially via some sort of sequel), but I understand why people call it Grand Theft Horse.
Can you imagine a new version!?!? That game was made by Neversoft, and that was their first game that wasn't a Tony Hawk.
Oh, and I did key in to some of what needed to be done with the final guy, threw dynamite and whiskey bombs at the things...never thought of the arrows though, even though you only get them near the end.
Yeh, funny how there's tonnes of dynamite ammo at the end huh.
Were you impressed by the story ? It was a giant cliche, but still well told. And really great cutscenes. I loved the ending struggle for main character to get out with the indian brother showing up and the death for MacGruder was fitting. Immediately after that cutscene, I wanted to explore the newly formed terrain. The final scene where you and the indian run out, was on some cool rock/mountain that I would have liked to play on, but I would have liked more out of the map and game in general, once finished.
All the cutscenes were pretty great. At the beginning, after you'd just been attacked by wolves and the cam switches to POV of an animal in the trees watcing Ned, I thought, "Oh, a big wolf is going to get him", and I honestly got a quick fright when the entire screen was filled with roaring bearface. Alot of the cutscenes affected me. 2 things. The great filmy look to the flashbacks the indian told (I love that you get to see a part of the map you roam in, in the past) and the stories he told, and the deathscenes. Jenny, Hoodoo, Reed, Hollister (damn that one is funny), Coltons father the doctor, (when he got his head chopped off, my eyebrows were touching my hairline, not used to seeing that in a game), were all great looking scenes and in Jenny and Reeds case, quite shocking and gruesome. It's a reward, but man was I shocked when Reed got that barrel shoved in his mouth. ..and I read some idiot guy on imdb saying he wished there was an option to turn the blood off so his young kids could play.
Anyhoo - glad you liked it, let me know if you ever hear anything about a sequel, there's been a petition for one, for a long time.

I beat Mirror's Edge last night. I have to say, Dice ruined a near-perfect game by including guns. I can deal with hand-to-hand combat, but getting shot in the back constantly is not fun...
For those moments when you're not being bothered by the fuzz it's one of the funnest gameplay experiences you'll ever have, in my opinion.

I have yet to go back and play something other than straight Soldier so I can get those "Use _____ 75 times" achievements. When you think of 11 of those plus the 150 medi-gel uses, it starts adding up to a time-sink. At some point I'll want to go back and play it, though I'm curious if it's possible to do all of those with one class or if I should plan on 2 play throughs.

Playthrough again as an Adept. Once you beat the game, your next character you create will be able to select one ability your previous character had. For my adept, I chose to be able to train in Assault Rifles. The minimum amount of playthroughs to get 1050 is 3. I did it in 6. 1 for Soldier skills and story completion, the next for hardcore difficulty plus biotic skills, the next for two allys, tech skills, and completion. Play throughs 4 and 5 were for the final two sets of ally achievements and I the last playthrough was just to get the insanity difficult achievement.

I've done 4 as a straight soldier so far, partly because Insane didn't unlock for me until I beat it twice. Part of me was really hoping the Sentinel (was that the tech/biotic dual?) would have what's required to get all of the tech and biotic achievements, but there seemed too many to be able to do that.
I might go full on each for a run through when I get back to it...and can see myself keeping Ashley around the whole way through.

I finally finished Grand Theft Auto IV on the PS3 last night. My library is limited to PC and PS3 games, so I don't have the Triple-A Xbox 360 titles from which to chose but after finishing the game, I'm ready to give GTA IV my personal Game of the Year Award for 2008. I loved almost everything about the game. There were a few minor frustrations and one WTF moment but overall, I think it was a brilliantly crafted experience.
The cast of characters was interesting, Brucie Kibbutz being my favorite of the supporting cast. I could never hang out with someone that obnoxious in real life, but as a video game personality, he was tons of fun.
A lot of game journalists talk about narrative and there seems to be some difference in opinion about what exactly that word means with regard to video game storytelling. If it defines how the story is told, then I think GTA's "narrative" is a perfect mixture of cutscenes and in-game story development. I loved picking up a buddy to go to a bar and listening to the conversation unfold as we drive to the location. Most of it was just background information on the characters designed to flesh them out but it really created a sense of personality for each one.
I recall reading about and hearing a lot of complaints with the combat system when the game was released. It was a bit odd in the beginning but eventually, once I grew accustomed to it, I enjoyed it. It was really satisfying to be able to crouch behind the trunk of my car to hide from incoming gunfire, pop up to fire off a couple of rounds and manage to nail the filthy drug dealer who was shooting at me. Headshot!
I'm disappointed that the DLC is only available for the Xbox 360 but I guess that means I can move on to something else now. :p

Congrats! I am in a similar position. I beat Fallout a month ago, or so, and still haven't settled on what to play next... It's a tough act to follow. Flower is nice, though.
I started out loving Fallout, but by the time I had everything I wanted and all my skills to max and all the unique weapons I felt like getting and whatnot, I just didn't like it anymore. All the extra time I had spent going and fetching all these assorted things seemed like a waste of time. So I don't know that I really enjoyed it like I could have.
Irregardless, I'd like to play something withOUT guns in it, but that seems to be becoming more and more rare. As my list of games has guns in about every single one of them, and the ones that don't, I've either beaten already (Prince of Persia), or don't want to play (Midnight Club), maybe I should put it to a vote or something.

Laugh all you like, but playing co-operatively with a spouse adds a level of challenge that you will never find in CoD, Fallout, or any other single player game.
Not all levels were completed at 100%. There are a number of 3x and 4x challenges we couldn't do. We now need to go back though and Ace every level as well, so there is some continued gameplay there for us, and my wife loves the community levels.
So, now we need to figure out the controls for Lego Star Wars on the PS3 so we can waste some time on that instead for awhile.

Finally got the Road Dog achievement in Rock Band 2. It's a small victory, but it's taken quite a while and I'm happy. :)

I was pretty happy about getting that achievement as well. I also just got the impossible band challenge achievement which was pretty awesome.

Did you get the one where you never pause the game? hmm, I guess I could always just spy on your achievements by comparing games with you since you're in my friend's list :P
EDIT: nvm, I was thinking about the Endless Setlist... I just unlocked it... it scares me

Just finished Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay (2009).
I am typing this as the credits roll. I played through on normal difficulty. At one point, I died so many times I switched the difficulty to Easy, and then I immediately regretted it and reset the game without even playing a single checkpoint. I hope that doesn't affect my trophies (I didn't notice any unlock yet.. maybe at the end of the credits?).
Anyhow, it was quite excellent. I regret missing it on Xbox, but hey, I got to experience it in HD for my first time.
The mech sequence was pretty good, but not as good as MGS4's mech stuff.
Up next, Assault on Dark Athena. But not tonight. May save it for later, I haven't decided yet... Lots of games to play.

Haha yea the endless set list. I did it in Rock Band 1, but haven't been brave enough to attempt it in Rock Band 2.
On another note I got the achievement for getting an Overkill (I think thats what it is called) on a free for all ranked playlist in Halo 3. I was pretty happy as I am not a huge Halo player.

Finally beat Resident Evil 5. I'm going through and upping the difficulty and farming money and points for the bonus stuff. I can't believe how hooked I am on this game. If I'd bought Devil May Cry 4 it probably would've been the same situation.

I'm playing through BioShock, finally. Had too many other games to play through and whatnot, and now that I got a new surround system, I figured it'd be time to jump back in. And Jeff is right. It's awesome.

Just beat PQ Galactrix. It was a lot harder than Warlords. I think on the first one I beat it while around level 35. Galactrix I was lvl 41 and I had to spend a lot of time mining to be able to buy a Capital class ship before I could take out the Gamma Sphere.

So tonight I finished up the extra missions that you get with the Broken Steel download for Fallout 3. This is the first DLC I have gotten from this game. I really liked the quests and they seemed to be pretty good length. I love using the Tessla Cannon a lot too.
I have to say I am also really liking the fact I can level up past 20 now. This is the primary reason I bought this DLC first, so that while I play through the others I will be able to level up. I'll probably pick up that disk that is coming out with Anchorage and The Pitt on it.

I wish they would've release the 20 level cap break first. I already maxed out and explored aaaall areas before DLC. Loved the game that much.

Just beat Uncharted.
Made me super siked for Uncharted2. It was amazing, but the whole zombie's thing was a little bit lame. I loved how it was like this "just a ton of dudes in a jungle with automatic's and walls", and the zombies just cheapened it.
Slowly grinding through my gamefly list, I've been outa the game loop for so long, cannot wait until summer.

Just beat Uncharted.
Congratulations! I loved that game, but agree with you about the supernatural critters at the end. That's the same problem I had with the first Far Cry.
Speaking of Far Cry, I just finished Far Cry 2. The first couple of hours felt awkward and uncomfortable and the seemingly endless number of guardposts full of armed gunmen was so irritating that I almost stopped playing. I kept at it though because I'd heard so many good things about the game and once I locked into a weapon load-out and attack strategy that worked well for me, the game's fun factor increased tremendously.
Now I suppose I'll keep playing Gun with Rebel FM Game Club until Damnation comes out in two weeks.

Congrats. I thought it was a great game, and I actually loved the part you hated. I knew it was coming, though, because someone posted a spoiler on a forum - kinda like you just did. :p Hopefully you were the last person left who hadn't completed it.
By the way, if you didn't know yet, if you are an annual subscriber to Qore before May 15th, OR if you purchase inFamous, OR if you win a code from a site such as mine, you can get into the Uncharted 2 multiplayer beta. You probably knew that, but just in case. ;)

Just finished up Wolverine. Next time, they should write the movie. Though the ending with Kayla was a bit weird. I think up next for this developer should be a new beat-em up X-Men game like this one but with other characters. Maybe a rebirth of Mutant Apocalypse. If only...

Just beat the latest Fable II DLC. What a short disappointment. I'm not sure what I was expecting to get out of it, but the new quests weren't all that fun and no cool items. More achievement points I suppose which throws in more replay value, but Knothole was the better of the two (price might reflect that).
The whole 'see the future' wasn't anything special, sadly. I was partially expecting a glimpse into where the Fable series was headed, but didn't get that.

I beat inFamous late Saturday night playing through with Evil karma on Hard.
I spent a few hours afterwards trophy whoring: completing the side missions, the stunt list, and maxing out my Karma upgrades. By the time I finished those, it was 4:30am and since my kids usually have me up by 8:00am, I figured I ought to get some sleep.
I'm still about 50 blast shards shy of the Rockhound trophy. I'm not sure whether I'm better off hunting down those last shards on this save, or trying again when I play through with Good karma, and checking them off a map showing the locations of all the shards. I'm leaning towards the latter, if only because I spent SO many hours looking for the final pigeon in GTA4 (never did find the GD thing, either).

I just beat inFAMOUS too, my personal victory was finding every last blast shard. Such a pain. What's terrible is the official strategy guide was missing like 6-7 shards on it, but with some help (and knowing how many were in each district), I finally got it done.
Now the only trophy left for me is the Hard Finish, it sounds a little daunting for me right now, but then again I may want to get it done now while I still know what I'm doing. If I do I think I'm gonna do it as Good, since I had an easier time with that.

I finished Valkyria Chronicles last night. There was one very videogame-y boss fight, which seemed odd compared to the rest of the game but since the game is so amazingly wonderful, I'll over look that one little flaw. Thanks to Jay_Ray for the recommendation.
Now I'm going to play inFamous so I know what you kids are talking about.

If you click in the left stick to locate sources of electricity, the shards also show up. I know it seems obvious, but I wanna ask - did you realize that? If so, I guess I'm going to give up my dream of finding all the shards, because I hate hunting for needles in haystacks.
Also, I heard (I think through IGN) that playing as Evil in Hard was easier, because you could kill innocents and it wouldn't be bad for your evil karma. I haven't finished playing as Good yet, myself (only about half-way done Neon). I'm actually focusing on other games right now. But inFamous is great so far.

Well, unless you keep track of where you've been in city when press L3, there's a chance you might miss some since the map shows such a small portion. I wish instead of the percentage for trophies, they gave you it based on completion of each island.
Evil is definitely easier, especially when you consider (without spoilers) the choice you have to make near the end of the game. And you get in less fights since you don't have to worry about saving people as much. Though it does get annoying when the bystanders start throwing rocks at you...

Yes, I did. My problem was finding a map that had all the shards actually on it, even the one from the official guide was missing like 6. Once I did that, I found the ones they missed, put them on the map and went to every single dot, and marked it off after. There's also a couple that aren't easy to catch because they're either very high up, or otherwise out of radar range unless you're looking for them specifically. I finally got them all though.

That may be true for most, but I know my Good playthrough was a lot easier when I played on Easy versus evil on Easy. With evil I was always searching for power sources to fuel my bigger energy weapons, with good powers I could just throw bolts at them to refuel, helps keep pressure on them, and helps me. Not as damaging, maybe, but definitely more staying power once you upgrade the lightning bolt to level 2 & 3 due to the energy (and health on headshots) regen.

I finally finished Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon for the DS. I love the GBA and Gamecube Fire Emblem games, but I never really got hooked on this one. It was mostly due to the poor character design and story. It's still a very well made game as far as the strategy aspect goes. But usually I find characters that I end up really liking and take pleasure in seeing them level up and become stronger. There are a lot of characters in Shadow Dragon, but none of them are particularly interesting visually. Also none of them really have any kind of personalities. This is a remake of the very first Fire Emblem that was released on the Famicom (Japanese NES). So that may be the source of the shortcomings of the game. But since the game was never released in the West, there's no nostalgia to make up for it.

Gratz.
Don't you have a Wii? A really cool feature of the Fire Emblem for Wii is one-handed play. You can just kick back on your couch with a beer/root beer/water/whatever in one hand, Wii Remote in the other, and just play.

Beat Hour of Victory today on the 360. Mediocre in every sense of the word. I think I ran through and melee killed everyone for 80% of this game. I think if they would have spent another couple of months polishing it up it could have been decent, but as it stands it is a very buggy ho hum game.
