I was just looking at the Revision3 schedule and something occurred to me. Obviously we know that the Gazette is on hiatus, along with GigaOM and Web Drifter, but now Social Brew has disappeared. My question though is how come these shows aren't listed anywhere as being on hiatus or even being canceled as it appears Social Brew has been? Revision3 needs to inform their viewers about what's going on.

Just another off the wall question, is there any reason Epic Fu is released at 1 AM? I would think it'd make more sense to release it Saturday sometime since iFanboy is the only one.

First let me apologize to everyone who had developed an attachment to Social Brew. This news will come as a shock, but unfortunately I've made the decision to cancel the show.

Why? From where I sit, it just wasn't working. It wasn't the hosts, it wasn't the producer and it wasn't the execution. It just didn't come together, and I really think the concept was flawed from the outset - and that's 100% my fault.

Behind the scenes the team worked extremely hard to try to pull it off. We went through a number of pilots, tried out a number of hosts, but in the end it just didn't have that certain something that would make Social Brew into a big, popular show - the kind that we need to have on Revision3.

So please accept my apology, and understand that this is a natural part of the evolution of a television network. We're going to try a lot of stuff, and not everything will be successful. It's important that we realize it early, and move on.

That's what we did.

If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to air them here, and I hope you'll continue to enjoy our slate of other shows.

Well, they do have the show archive page (http://revision3.com/shows/archive/). It has the shows that are no longer in production. It's a start, but I agree with you.

While that is great that he came out and told us the problem is that as far as we know the show could have been canceled a week ago and we weren't told until now. Everyone was left wondering what had happened and there was no information given to us. Revision3 does need to get a better way to announce late shows, cancellations, and shows on hiatus then just pulling them from the schedule and not posting anything official on the forum or blog.

@tokenuser, that explains part of it, mostly that question was just why don't they spread their shows out more instead of releasing a bunch early on in the week and then going down? It'd make more sense and could probably ease the load for them in editing and releasing.

I agree that social brew just never seemed right and for it being canceled does not surprise me.
I see Rev3 is outsourcing for shows more often which still makes me wonder why was indigital canceled Tekzilla is a totally different show....not asking for indigital to be brought back now since that obviously won't happen but if rev 3 is willing to outsource for shows like Scam school and Epic fu,Ifanboy,TRS..I don't get it.
And as others have said about never confirming the deaths of some shows like Cac and broken.

I really hope Gazette does not stay on hiatus long I don't know what to believe anymore with Rev3 does hiatus mean hiatus or "oops we forgot about that show" .

I know rev3 is doing something different in making a real network online only and can be tougher than most us viewers can imagine and we do appreciate the work you guys do despite our gripes sometimes but one thing that should be very simple is keeping us informed and not letting us hang for periods of time before saying something or giving us conflicting info.

I was thinking that too, about indigital. The reason given to us was that they wanted to move production there, but there's gotta be something else involved. Looks like Revision3 has has a couple of conflicts with staff, most recently with Neha. But putting that aside I think Revision3 has learned that trying to put everything into the studio isn't the best idea and they're trying to be too much like a traditional media company. Or at least we can hope.

The Gazette just ran dry. I was liking it but it was getting old. As for the shows on hiatus, Web Drifter just takes an insane amount of time to travel and Om had surgery so his show is out. Hiatus doesn't mean that they forgot about it. But sometimes I do think that they have streched themselves too far...
