How is the rc2 treating you so far? Is it your default browser? Any weird glitches?

Been using it all day every day since beta 5 here's my experience:

XP- No problems at all. Works perfectly, only "problem" I've experienced is lack of compatible add ons.

Linux- Quite a few "random" crashes, not sure if that's a FF3 problem with Linux or a Linux problem with Flash though.

I'm also using it since beta 5.

I had a lot of crashes too, but since I installed the Flashblock add-on, FF3 works perfectly (Flash is awful on Linux).

Firefox 3 is a little more lightweight than FF2, but that's not really noticeable (maybe it is if you use lots of tabs).

Yeah, that's always been my problem... before I know it, I have like 30 tabs open and then everything crashes. FF3 has been pretty forgiving though... haven't crashed yet -- but I'm on OS X.

Much faster! RAM issues appear completely resolved. "AwesomeBar" is very nearly that... really useful. Hasn't crashed on me once yet (Vista), as FF2 is prone to do on occasion. Haven't tried it on Linux yet.

Has some issues with Rev3's forum.

Only issue I had was on rev 3 site not loading right to half pages to one big giant code but was the same with flock so maybe just a rev3 thing.
Attachments BC issues but that is like anytime we get updates to FF.

I am on XP other than that works fine.

I was forced into using Beta 5 when I upgraded my Ubuntu instillation to 8.04. I'm happy to say that all my extensions work (including the all important "No Script") and I've only experienced one crash. I haven't gotten around to using it in either Vista or XP yet. At this point, I might as well wait until the final version is released.

BTW, since Mozilla is trying to set a Guiness World Record for the most downloaded software in 24 hours... does anyone know who/what holds the current record?

Firefox 3? Loved the original Firefox - both the book by Craig Thomas, and the movie with Clint Eastwood. The sequel - Firefox Down - was an even better book. Didn't realise a thrid one was made - did it go straight to video?

Can't comment on FF3 RC2 ... because Opera 9.5 is rock solid and opening a massive can of whoop ass on FF.

Opera is great because it's SO fast! Unfortunately, the UI makes me want to vomit.

Seriously?! I LOVE the moving tab buttons. I think that feature was made just for me because I suck at closing tabs. :)

Well, I can't put my finger on exactly what I don't like about the UI. It just doesn't work for me... the same goes for IE7.

In addition... About a year ago I used Opera on a regular basis and it never failed that I would run across a web site that required either IE or Firefox in order for it to be loaded. Now, I know that's not Opera's fault but, none the less, still annoying.

FF3 is just as fast or faster.

Got this navigating the rev3 forums with RC1 a few times:

"Content Encoding Error

The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because it uses an invalid or unsupported form of compression.

* Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem."

A poster here mentioned that RC2 gives the same thing.

i'm having problems with Flash, especially Youtube video flash. I can't seem to play any of the vids or control the player.

I just refresh the page whenever that happens.

I so far have nothing bad to say about Firefox. The SQLite database that it uses to handle bookmarks is doing me justice.

On the ubuntu side, it's not so good. Crashes on me a lot. I can't have more than 3 tabs open before the memory is used up!

4/5. Why isn't it 5? All of the extensions available eats up a lot of memory. I really miss my stumble upon button :(

I get random encoding errors on the forums sometimes. It's only these forums that it occurs tho. The other Vbul forums I visit never seem to have encoding errors.

I like FF3 but still find many webpages that need IE, especially those with search boxes, or entering details needed for renting a car for example. Interestingly, since I have been living in Europe, they seem to have so many more websites that work better in IE than in FF, yet they have such problems with Microsoft!

I also have had problems with FF3 having problems with scripts on pages.

I won't give up on FF, I just hope it gets better and I can use all the add-ons I had in FF2. I am especially looking forward to having an IE Tab that works with FF3.

Yeah, yeah I'll admit it. Until rev3 I never heard of the show but WOW Zadi you are as funny as you are gorgeous.

Haven't had a chance to try FF3. I am leary of beta moods but not that they are at RC2 I will have to download it.

30 tabs Zadi?? are you serious?? maybe multiplexing several 20"+ widescreen monitors together would work better (think Swordfish setup).

I am with tokenuser on this one Opera 9.5 is seriously spanking FF3 and kudos for even remembering Firefox I thought I was the only one. Both are good and I always have room for multiple browsers. I want to see portable version of both. I am an avid user of thumb drives and the U3 software. To avoid issues with employers and their "internet policies" or "download" policies I use portable versions of these browsers. Bring it on guys. gotta love open source competition.

Great show guys. I would have likely never found it to watch until you showed up on the Rev3 schedule.

I am using FF3 RC1 on XP and have frequent problems with Flash going bonkers. I leave the browser up constantly, and anything with Flash loses sound at some point. I have to restart the browser every day or 2. Maybe this is fixed for me in RC2. I did not have the problem with FF2.

One main irritant, when I want to bookmark a URL it tells me "This website does not support Identity Information" and I have to wait 5 seconds for the warning to disappear. Only then does the folder open to file away the bookmark.

Bugs the hell outta me I tells ya!

The Stumble Upon plugin is working for me (3.18). Did you try and reinstall?

I've been using it on XP and it works really fine. Im still using both Flock and FF3 though im using FF as my default now. It has not crashed yet, though i still miss some of my add-ons. But i think this version is really the best browser i've tested so far. And it is still on pre Release.

I wonder if the problems have to do with the OS, because on XP its been working really fine for me, i usually use 12 to 16 tabs openeded at once.

I have problems with FFrc2 not reading CSS after a while (Mac). Anyone else have this problem?
