Solidworks users unite!

I am a graphics coordinator for an engineering firm. This gives me access to a lot of software that most graphic designers wouldn't be able to use. I have the awesome opportunity to learn Solidworks right now. I was wondering if there are any other TRS fans who are professional users of Solidworks. I will be using Solidworks for photo renderings (in Photoworks) and simple animations. I would like other users to post tips and tricks or give advice on projects.

I took the Solidworks Essentials course and decided to model the Companion Cube from Portal so I could apply some of the basics I learned. This is a preliminary rendering and I need to spend more time defining materials and setting my scene.

So,... feedback, please.

Solidworks is the shit. Well, not really. But its the only cad modeling software i can use (poorly). Only 1 semester. I could never do what you did. That is awesome. Now, use floworks to make a model of the air flow dynamics and stress diagrams (made up).
