So I just have to say, I had an amazing time. Jeff, Dan, Alex, and Steve were all really great guys. They took time out to talk to each and every person and had a blast doing it. I definitely enjoyed it more than the live diggnation. It was more laid back, fun, and I met a bunch of really cool people there. I hope they come back soon. How did everyone else enjoy it?

first of all, i have to say alex / dan / jeff are cool guys and it was great to hang around with everyone a bit.

all in all a good time, and i hope this happens again soon.

- the guys were cool enough to sign my iphone. how this will factor into monday's events...who knows :)

- my sister played 1-on-1 mariokart with alex, he played dirty, won, and told her to "suck it"...probably proportional to the smack-talking that was happening beforehand.

- i have to say one thing, though: i was disappointed in the vibe of the whole thing. i thought that after two hours, things would chill out and we'd get a chance to just have everyone bullshit around a bit. from watching the shows and the little i did get to talk to the guys, i can see they're cool enough to talk to a little. instead - it was mostly just people surrounding the guys as if they were some pro athletes sighing autographs. hopefully in future meetups things will be a little more relaxed.

- i got a few pics worth sharing:

If you've got photos of the event (especially if you're already on Flickr) you should probably add them to the Revision 3 pool (www.flickr.com/groups/772976@N22/pool/), also if you want the TRS meet up pool (http://www.flickr.com/groups/746447@N24/) as well. It helps get the word out, shows we're having a good time, and people can note and tag anyone they recognize. It's full of win people.

All my photos are already online here (http://www.flickr.com/photos/cwluc/sets/72157605510926890/) (and in the pools...)

the trs guys must have gotten tired of doing the fistpump thing. The way it was done looks kinda awkward with everyone just crowding around them. Either way, seems cool of them to be accommodating to all the fans.

The "Fist-Pump" or "Punch-out"thing is brilliant. It gives them an instant way to bond with their fans. I want to shake their hands for thinking of it...wait... I did!

Hey all. I was having some difficulty logging into the Rev3 forums, so Axel posted the message above on our behalf. ;)

I am working on editing down more pics from the Tumblr afterparty thing, as well. Did you guys go/is there a separate Flickr group or forum thread for that ... or is it all mixed in with the meetup? I kind of think it should be separate. Anyway... it was awesome to meet so many of you and I look forwards to the next one!

Also, if you added my flickr (http://www.flickr.com/amberella) as a contact after the diggnation taping, FYI that these new pics are under a different account (http://www.flickr.com/axel-amber) so you won't see them in your contact photostream. That is probably more information than you need to know. :p

I stopped by the Tumblr thing but left after a half hour not knowing what was going on and not really wanting to get another drink. I thought the guys were going to that when they said they were going to some cocktail party, but when I realized I was misinformed, I left.

I ended up posting the Post-TRS Meetup pics (from the Tumblr/Internet Week Meetup @ M 1-5) separately. If you were there and/or are interested, they're in this set (http://www.flickr.com/photos/axel-amber/sets/72157605527405588/). People were ROCKING OUT on stage playing Rock Band. It was truly impressive.

And in a related matter, pics from the Diggnation filming are in this set (http://www.flickr.com/photos/amberella/sets/72157602221424454/).

Ok, back to pretending to work.

....ps I continue to have difficulty logging in from Firefox. Anyone experiencing this?

Damn, it looks like right when I posted my videos, they unstickied the meetup info. thread, and perhaps people aren't bothering to check what people are posting at the end anymore since it's so big. So here is my video (can't embed!) in HD at 39 minutes and 43 seconds.

Add a comment if you see yourself in the vid, and I'm interested to know who the Steve fan is in the beginning!

I thought Viddler allowed videos longer than 10 minutes? Or was it because of filesize? What's their limit?

hellfighter
06-14-2008, 02:01 AM
Size limit. 500 MB. I was supposed to get a special account with unlimited size and higher bit rate, but nothing I uploaded would work except the smaller ones, so I just split them into pieces less than 500 MB.

It really wasn't bad at all. There was tons of open space and if you felt like being recluseive there was plenty of other areas where you could be all by yourself with some arcade games.

Now the live Diggnation was crowded. I ended up having to opt out of that one for shedule reasons, but I wasn't too upset about missing it.It looked more packed then the concert I went to later that night!

It was actually just the right amount of people. I was able to talk to all 4 of the guys easily. It was real cool, all the fans were respectful and calm, even after a few beers. I actually had way more fun at the TRS meetup than the Diggnation live. I almost punched some guy for being obnoxiously drunk and leaning on everyone around him.

It was actually just the right amount of people. I was able to talk to all 3 of the guys easily. It was real cool, all the fans were respectful and calm, even after a few beers. I actually had way more fun at the TRS meetup than the Diggnation live. I almost punched some guy for being obnoxiously drunk and leaning on everyone around him.

Some of us even got a chance to talk to all 4 guys.

It really wasn't bad at all. There was tons of open space and if you felt like being recluseive there was plenty of other areas where you could be all by yourself with some arcade games.

In fact, my wife had to retreat to the arcade several times to keep my daughter happy.

I swear, in my head I included steve, but I pictured the 3 guys as I was watching the show...it was my mistake. Sorry, Sorry.

Geez, hope this doesn't turn into a witchhunt...

My brother and I talked to steve for a while too...we even got on camera to do the "I'm here for Steve thing"

yeah, I live in MA so I kind of could have gone. I mean, I was like, "How often are they going to be on the east coast!?!"

Unfortunately I didn't have nearly enough money to go there, back, and in between, lol.

Yeah, me and my brother got to chat with all 4 guys and it was a lot more personal than I thought it would be after that Live Diggnation.

Someone needs to tell the folks over at Diggnation to start scheduling those things in bigger venues (preferably with seats) and better sound. A theater perhaps?

I'm not one to really partake in forums but the TRS forums are awesome. Glad, I got to meet the people behind the avatars at the event.

This is true with live Diggnations sadly. For some reason, most of the live shows have been in pathetic sht venues that are bad for the audience to be in and bad to watch as a show. I couldn't believe the l.a. venue set up. 25 chairs and tables in the middle of the room that took up 80% of the floor, then 300 ppl standing in the 2 aisles on the side.

Yeh I've felt girls pain with concert goers crushing them. Also guys 'rubbing' up against their butts - - um, not a pain I've experienced, but apparently girls occassionally get rubbed on, as far as I understand. In my concert-going days, I used to get alot of temporary girlfriends, by protecting random strangers from moshpit death. Once a girl realises you suddenly put your arms around her a moment before a sea of guys almost crushes her, she starts to like you.

You look pretty tiny, you can invite your tiny friends to the pocket.

I go to a ton of local shows usually so that isn't too bad when it isn't jam-packed, but I know exactly what you mean about the big concerts and stuff.

My friend Leah and I would always go together and there would always be a guy trying to protect us and occasionally asking us, "ARE YOU GUYS OKAY???"

and of course, we'd smile back and say yes. then there would be like a mutual coolness between the three of us hahaha.

It's interesting that you say that because I had no idea that guys regularly did that! hahaha

It's scary seeing girls go down, in any occassion... well except one.. In a crowd that's moving as one, a girl who's head, doesn't even reach my nipple, dissappears in an instant when she loses her footing. Even if I don't wrap my arms around them, I'll still keep an eye on them. I'm kind of also that way around old people.

I once almost got trampled to death in a mosh pit at a Pearl Jam concert. That was one of the scariest moments of my life. Thankfully, my brother (who is a big guy) started screaming and shoving people aside. He managed to grab my arm and drag me out. I was bruised up all over, and could barely breathe, but I made it out.

That's what scares me and why I said what I said about putting an arm cage around girls in the moshpit. I've seen girls dissappear straight down, and the space they occupied was immediately filled in my guys and that scares me alot.

Fav band ever. Shared a bottle of red wine with eddie and some friends back in 96. If I were gay, I'd do Eddie Vedder, Kazushi Sakuraba and Stephen Koncelik . . .. seperately, I think 1 at a time would be plenty for a beginner pinck card carrying member.

Yup, I'd wrangle them all into my corner, even giving a phonebook spot for Ryudo to stand on (love ya dude) and tie string from the back of their waist to my belt loops, not Ryudo though, he can mingle, but he still deserves to see.

Well, if we're talking Starbucks, you put a little in a teaspoon, add a pinch of sugar, blowtorch till golden, add a splash of soy milk and a drop of french vanilla...and procede with the snort.
You normally pay double for this kind.

I speak from experience of course.
