This thread was inspired by something Bohemian_Beauty said in the Kung Fu Panda post. She mentioned cult animated movies and it got me thinking about all my favorite animated movies. Naturally, I wanted to make sure I haven't been missing out on any. . .

What are some of y'alls favorite "cult-animated movies"?

I guess I'm not sure exactly what the definition of a cult-animated movie is. Some favorites from when I was a child were: Land Before Time, An American Tale, and Little Nemo. Has anyone else seen Little Nemo, because trying to describe it too many people who haven't its kind of rough. From what I remember though, I really liked it. If this falls under it, but my favorite 80's animated film would probably be Transformers the Movie. Are Disney films under this category?

Yeah, "cult" is kind of a loose term and is hard to explain. You just know it when you see it. . . kinda like noir. I'd say disney movies don't count (mostly because I've seen and loved all of them).

So far the only movie mentioned that I haven't seen is The Flight of the Dragons. I might have to check that one out. . .

Little Nemo is great! It is incredibly imaginative. It's pretty hard to describe but it has a lot to do with dreams and stuff. It's a shame it wasn't as big as it was originally intended to be. If you like animation and haven't seen Little Nemo, do yourself a favor and netflix it.

I added Little Nemo to my Netflix queue is apparently not on DVD or something. It was on the unknown release for the saved section. I may have to dig out my VHS copy if I still have it.

... The Flight of Dragons...
You just made my morning! I forgot about this movie completely. When I was a wee lad, I destroyed this tape because I constantly wanted to watch it.

Edit: After some searching, I found the full version on Google Video (http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-1151479980233120880&q=flight+of+dragons&hl=en|Google).
