Any way, went out drinking yesterday with a pocket full of matches. Been practicing the jack o latern and human chimney.

Went to a Bar/ Rest called blockheads on 50th b/w 8 and 9th in NY here.

I was practicing the jack o latern before everyone showed up and messed it up a couple of time because the place is outdoors, but the crowd liked it anyway.

I then moved onto the human chimney, which the group loved however one person notice what I did (my new plant). He didn't call me out though. He just whispered. I told him to sit next to me and pulled out my archos and we watched prob 5 episodes of scam school.

With knowledge in hand we went over to our drunkest friend (we call him Trouble) and did the lift.

My plant, Forkner, and myself continued to pimp the table. We even work a little circum vs height.

This was my first attempt at a public show and have plans to spend no more than $20 at my friends going away party at a local bar.

This is a brief play by play for the night.

Needless to say I had to work today (from home) and was hung over.

So here is how it all went down.

While waiting to be seated I was playing with matches and showed one of my friends the jack. He said thats sweet, and was in awe. I made sure to keep him away from the other guys. I then did a chimney for him. "O shit dude, he smoked the smoke!"

Sat down at the table after we were seated and did a jack for everyone. Took a few tries because a few of them wanted photos.

I bought a "banana mega margarita" and ordered a burrito.

After I ate I did a chimney, did it twice because light wasn't that friendly.
Tricks with matches not recommended outside. If someone farts, your match is out.

I know once is a trick twice is a lesson.

My friend who realized what I did and my new plant caught it on the first try.
I really thought I had down the inhale. Practice kids, practice.

My friend who noticed was intrigued and we watched some scam school. I showed him the lift. We now have a plan.

First I only had margarita glasses and thought about doing height vs circumference with shot glasses but we didn't have enough.
Luckily I got a pint glass. I quickly measured so i knew how much room I had.

Grabbed everyone and asked the basic question, which is more. alot of back and forth with which is which. I said just to make it clear, everyone pull out a dollar so we can keep track. i said whoever is right gets the prize.

It was 5 ppl (including the plant) and the number were 3-2 C vs H
I grabbed my cell and asked again, same results. I added my wallet and asked for someones cig box. 2 - 3. My plant was working hard saying damn thats tall. By the time I grabbed the final numbers I had 3 cell phones 2 wallets and a box of cigs.

I added my bet and it ended with 2-4, my plant was a part of the 4. We measured and the other guys were kicking them self in the ass. I gave everyone their cash back and asked for a drink.

"Grande watermelon margarita"

I told my plant to go to the end of the table and talk to someone else. I approached my target and we setup for it. He said what the hell are you gonna do. I had him try to lift me first. He said I can't what are you gonna do.

I said hold on a sec I wanna try.

Went for it with my plant. FLAWLESS.

I acted winded and everything.

My friend went HOLY shit that was like David fucking Blane, ur a wizard!!!

I told him hod on I wanna make it harder.

Got the chair. Setup and BAM!!!

His face was priceless.

I told him wow im fucking winded, I can use a drink. remember, give love to them too.

He said dude ill buy u THREE!!!!!!

LAST CALL WAS 10 DAMN MINS EARIER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!

He said drink my margarita, he had a mega, that is like a slurpee size drink.

I was gonna have one and give the other 2 to my plant.

Well now I have my plant and we intend to practice before going to my friends going away party. With only $20 bucks in hand we intend to work some Nim and use the puzzle. I didnt want to do it all in one sitting in case the other guys decide they wanna speak up.

So by the end of the night I ended with 2 free drink. I really landed 5 drinks and 2 bucks. This was my first try guys. So keep practicing, Brian I am so hitting you up the night I go out. Hopefully get some pointers by twitter!

BTW, I was drunk, and had to work this morning. Dont do this when you work the next day please. Thank god I work from home. I felt like trash and starred at a moving computer monitor.

Sounds like you had a great set... I'm especially proud of the way you diffused a potential competitor. You just explained your mission, handed him some scam school episodes, and told him to STFU and learn! Brilliant!

I'm even more excited once we get another dozen episodes or so out there to start hearing discussions on which bit makes the best opener, closer, etc... and who's able to score the most free drinks.

Heh I love hearing about people's success stories. It's really neat. Unfortunately I'm not all that charismatic and don't really like being the center of attention (what some of these tricks require). I don't plan on ever doing one but it's nice to have it up my sleve in case the time comes where I need to bust out some impressive stuff.

I still like the how to stick ur friend to the bar one. I'll keep that one in mind in case I ever need to get some ahole away from a hottie.

BTW I was doing the circum v height w/ some friends and I told them about scam school and i explained the stick ur friend to the bar one. My roommate who watches the episodes w/ me put my beer glass and stuck me to the table. Luckily it was just an example and he didn't just leave me there. Almost got myself stuck. ;-)
