AICN scooped this poster for the remake of RoboCop

I'm still disgusted they're remaking it and this poster isn't helping me.

First film was great other two sucked.
Also very tired of all these 80's movie remakes..the least they could do is make his armour look not so 80's (yes it looks awesome even now but still would not mind some minor design changes to keep up with the times)

Oooh I remember the TV show and the cartoon.

Wow...what happened to having an original idea? Indiana Jones, Transformers, etc, etc, etc...sheesh. These movies are made for those folks who love to sit around and say "Hey, remember...blah blah blah?". I'd much rather have a Pan's Labrynth or No Country for Old Men any day...

Most excellent news!

Maybe if we get lucky, they can re-make E.T., Gremlins, and The Wizard and totally destroy my childhood!

As long as no f*cker touches The Goonies I won't need to go postal.

And this needs a new thread...

No I said the two sequels sucked...I already saw a flying robocop in three..no thanks.

No I just mean some very minor detail touches..most people might not pick up on but be needed for when it comes to blu-ray HD.

Whoa, whoa, whoa now...

As a product of the 1980s and someone who has always loved Robocop movies, I'm interested in the franchise reboot, but I can't say I'm going to be completely won-over. I think the big problem is just how far they can go, how "edgy" can they really get... Particularly when Detroit is a completely different monster now as opposed to 20 years ago.

- They have to keep it dreadfully violent, which is probably easier to do today than compared to back then. But, of course, they struggled with the 'X' rating for a while with the origional.

- The witty sense of humor has to return, as I feel that was a key part to making the origional movie successful. I'm sure there is plenty of fodder for social commentary out there.

- Detroit is key as well. Thing is, seems like its more of a problem with crystal meth and some substantially less violent crime. Granted, its three hours due east of me... But yeah, you can walk around and not get shot at these days.

I guess I think of '80s/early '90s Detroit and America and I don't see the Robocop formula fitting over as well as you'd think. Mehhhh. I'll probably see it anyway.

You know this movie is bound to be a PG13 (12A UK) right?
