For me, it has to be The Goonies. If anyone ever remade that, I think I'd go postal!

So which movie do you hope and pray is never remade?

Wes

Lord of the Rings. I honestly don't know how they could remake that one.

My favorite Tom Cruise movie: Days of Thunder...

The sport has changed too much since then. That, and it would just feel like a "serious" Talladega Nights.

THOUGHT:

They shouldn't do my second-favorite Tom Cruise movie: Top Gun

None of them. If a movie was good enough to be re made it is good enough to have no need to be.

I agree with rabidbadger, to be honest, but I'll just reply normally too:

Donnie Darko. The director's cut sucked it big enough as it was, no need to ruin it further.

Highland 2: The Quickening

Because, that shit was bad enough the first time they made it!

Raiders of the Lost Ark. Remake it and die. Though I'm 99% certain that no one would be stupid enough.

Star Wars

My English teacher always says they should never remake To Kill A Mockingbird...

Annnnnd...wizard of oz.

Wizard of Oz Should be remade that book has WAAAAY more potential than a hollywood song and dance number.

There are very few movies that i think should be remade except those based on earlier IP and screwed it up.(see above)

Personally, I don't think anything made in the previous 50 years should be remade unless it was based on source material and strayed significantly (or maybe, had great potential but a piss-poor implementation).

Any movie with a "twist" at the end (The Crying Game or The Sixth Sense) cause unless its hundreds of years in the future and everyone's forgotten it there's no point.

Dr. Strangelove.

Any Kubrick film, actually.

This is like shooting fish in a barrel. A more interesting question would be what movie should be remade, and who would you have do it?

I think if a movie well known to movie-goers then there is no point in remaking it especially if it is recent eg last 20-30 years. I suppose the film I would never want to see remade is the Godfather.

Lawrence of Arabia would suck as a remake ...
Lawrence of Iraq just doesn't have the same appeal.

Larry Of Afghanistan. Starring Ru Paul as Abbot, and Verne Troyer as Costello. Gives the banana stand scene all new meaning. Pee Wee Herman as the killer bike. Directed by Kubricks's ghost. What could go wrong? (oh, and the Andrew Sisters played by the straight 3 backstreat boys in Burkas).

Thankfully the remake of Escape of New York fell through. No one can replace Kurt Russel or John Carpenter's 80's soundtrack.
