I just got into the Harry Potter movies because I bought the third one for a buck at a local Big Lots. Then I found the first movie for two bucks at a local Kmart.
I'm up for these movies because they seem fun and lots of cool fx.

YAY!!! I'm so excited! OoP was my second favourite book of the series (so far) and I hope they do the movie right!!

i never read the books and found the Goblet of Fire really hard to follow. i did not understand the plot and it had been too long since i had seen the others, so the characters were not fresh in my mind. i hope Order of the Phoenix is a good movie. the teaser trailer looks awesome.

I guess I'm one of the few people who thinks that Harry Potter functions much better in book form. Unlike some novels, you can't just get the gist of a Harry Potter book in two hours. They are largely plot driven--and by cutting elements--you ruin those great moments of realization that happen when reading. They result is a film adaptation that is often confusing and rushed.
It should have remained a great book phenomenon and not become a slew of mediocre movies.

holy jeez... i cant wait until july....
as for Goblet of Fire being confusing, they cut about a million things out of the story... it is really hard making a ginormous book into a two and a half hour movie....

yeah the book was soo different, but I still enjoyed the movie (and not just because the Weasley boys are hot)
