June 17th...I was thinking the Firefox 3 download day (let's make the world record!) and...my birthday:D

One more reason I want an Intel Mac...Spore doesn't support PowerPC Mac:(

I thought this was going to be about Firefox 3 as well. Lavahot, if you want something to do today try helping set a new world record by downloading the latest version of Firefox at http://www.spreadfirefox.com/en-US/worldrecord (http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/). Though judging by how hard it is getting that site to load, I think they will break the record easily...

Lavahot, if you want something to do today try helping set a new world record by downloading the latest version of Firefox at http://www.spreadfirefox.com/en-US/worldrecord (http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/). Though judging by how hard it is getting that site to load, I think they will break the record easily...I'd like a count of unique users to visit the DL site, and know how many of them actually installed FF instead of just pumping DL stats.

what I dont get is that it still only links to version 2 and then you can click a few more times for the release candidate 3

isn't it supposed to be final today?

But the record is only for the number of downloads, not installs. Though anyone who went to the effort of downloading and not installing clearly has too much time on their hands.

I don't get this either, the download map says there have been over 500,000 downloads already, have all those people only downloaded version 2? I think I'll try later when it's a little less messy...

Bummer. I'll wait to download the full version. I DLed FF3 15 times, but it's too tedious. Is there a piece of software that will download something over and over again while deleting it after it's finished?

I was looking forward to the full Spore creature creator too... :( Kevin Rose got my hopes up when he said he was releasing the full one to download early, but it's the trial just like the one that's out now.

And wow, I'm behind the times. Had no idea about the Firefox thing.

the trial is the full thing I am assuming... then you unlock it by logging into the spore website after you purchase the whole thing.
