Monitor Troubles.

I recently got my hands on a used 19" LCD monitor. It had a crack in the plastic on the bottom right hand corner. But I figured I'd give it a try because it was only $1. Anyway, when I start it up everything looks great except for the bottom right hand corner. It is black and just takes up the right hand corner of the screen. Is there anyway I can fix this or am I out of luck?

Edit: I walked in 10 minutes later and the monitor was dead. Wouldn't cut on at all and the power cord was hot as hell. I'm just gonna toss it because I don't feel the need to start another fire.
