View Full Version : Pocket PC
Hi,
I love all the revision3 shows, I watch them on my Pocket PC, but I do have some problems!
It takes AGES to get the programs onto the device
When I watch them, the video and audio is HEAVILY out of sync (I mean really bad)
I normally get lowest quality WMV or Divx. The only thing I can think of is for me to drag out Windows Media Enocder (or similar, better program) and do some encoding into a lower quality. This would take a long time too.
Any ideas?

I think your only options are to re-encode or get a device that is more made for video

Aaaahhh, Ben, you let Bill Gates into your pants.
I actually very rarely use Microsoft stuff, I'm a Linux guy, but I can't find any good syncronisation software for Linux, so I have to ( ) use Windows.

How are you putting the videos on the device? I use a pocket PC for some videos, but I don't put them on it through the dock. I have use Comact Flash and SD cards to hold the videos and I put the videos on the cards via a card reader.
As far as the sync issue is concerned, try TCMP

At the moment I am using the Dock...
I am currently in the process of waiting for an amzon delivery of a 2GB CF card, and a 14000000 in 1 reader, I read that it is roughly 100% faster, that sounds like a good figure.
For xvid, mov, insert name of other format, I use TCMP. For some reason it totally freezes and the whole Pocket Pc locks when I try to watch wmvs on it.
The new CF card I'm getting will be better I hope, it has a really good read speed. I've got a good spec on my Pockt PC, so I reckon that the out of sync-ness is down to a very cheap SD card.

ActiveSync also converts most anything you transfer to your pocket PC via the dock too. That might cause the sync issue. I haven't transfered anything over the dock for that reason and the fact that it's horribly slow.
