Gary Vaynerchuk tries 3 wines from three different countries made from the same Grape. Sampling wines from Argentina, Spain and California, Gary shows you how to get the best Tempranillo for your dollar.

Watch and download the very first episode of Wine Library TV here. (http://revision3.com/winelibraryreserve/tempra/)

Good episode, only problem is that it was edited a little too much. It seemed like it was rushed quite a bit, and I know it was probably a 10-15min show. Half the fun is watching him "really" get into the wine, 4 min just feels like a rip. Imagine if DiggNation cut all the gab and just showed the story...boring huh? But since it's the 1st show on Rev3 I'm going with a 86+.

LINK IT UP MOTT!

It has to be "In 5 minutes or less", I understand that this is especially what they are going for. Plus they did refer to the episode #455 (http://tv.winelibrary.com/2008/04/30/tempranillo-from-3-different-countries-episode-455/) that was 18 minutes. So they're not hiding the fact it's a condensed version.

I like the energy Gary has, I loved to see him on Internet Superstar and the GigaOM show. I don't drink wine, except at Christmas and Thanksgiving... So I just wouldn't take time of my day to watch 20 minutes shows about wine. But a very short clip... I could stack it in my general knowledge category.

Just found out that FULL episodes are also available on revision3.

Episode 488 - Wine Library TV - Austrian Red Wine Tasting (http://revision3.com/winelibrarytv/0488/)

So the "Reserve" are like Bites, Daily, Lil' and Mini

So the "Reserve" are like Bites, Daily, Lil' and Mini

I thought that too, but the schedule says that Reserve will only be released on Wednesdays (same time as The Digg Reel), and the Wine Library TV episode will only be on Fridays.

Now, I haven't seen the show before, but I thought I heard (and that he said on this episode) that a new Wine Library TV episode comes out every weekday? I don't know the whole deal or anything, but does that mean that only one of five episodes he does per week will be released on Rev3?

Also, I'm wondering: Will there be a feed that downloads both the Reserve and the full episode every week? I mean, it's kind of the same as having the dailies and weeklies of the other shows in one feed.

Guess with all the editing, they won't be able to do all 5 episodes. I agree that the 5 minute episode does look rushed, but at least they also provide full episodes as well. Wonder what they're planning on doing...both episodes (short/long) are different episodes and both of them are old.

My guess is that they will do the short episodes (WLTV Reserves) twice a week (Wed/Fri) and they will do the regular long episodes daily.

I like the new editing and the images of the tastes!
but i think they should have left the spits and swirls it gave character to the show! ;)

Hmm I already saw the Austrian one on Wednesday...

I wonder if Rev3 is just going to be syndicating older episodes of WLTV...

I really like the fast edit style, it doesn't take away from anything wine wise, and it keeps me more engaged.

I am really psyched! keep it up!

Really not a fan of the editing here. I would agree with the others as it looks rushed. IMO, it's TOO MUCH about wine. A lot of WLTVs audience watches because Gary is such an amazing host and fun to watch. Without all the quirkiness, the show looks really scripted and unexciting.

Will still watch, though.

I think they ruined a very good simple show. This editing style may appeal to the younger crowd but not the older fans of the show.

Please take the toys away from the kids otherwise you will kill the show.

wow after watching that I had to sign in and make a post. I love wine library TV and that was not wine library TV. The show should not be edited like that. :(

I like the fast edit and the fun pictures. I like to watch the full shows when I have time, but it's nice to have the 5 minutes or less style too.

WTF!!!
-over edited like (the bones and puting like 3 or 4 pictures in the screen... put 1 at a time)
-its too rushed!
-what happend to the question of the day????

Hey guys, great feedback so far, this is what we need to make Wine Library Reserve an awesome show.

I tend to agree that the show is a bit over-edited. The guys working on it are awesome though, and I guarantee the next episode will be better, and then the next episode and so on and so forth!

I kind of like the editing style. It keeps me on my feet and it's only 4-5 minutes.

I think it's definitely more accessible for the non-die hard fans out there. It gives me exactly what I need in 1/4 of the time.

Besides, some lines slightly out of context are hilarious ("Snowman, Mott!")

Thanks for the feedback. Agreed on the 'too fast' - good to have a few spots a little slower that show more of his reactions as well as allow time for taking the info in. As your watching though - do take into account that this isn't supposed to be a piece that you'd watch in addition to the long version. This is more intended to be a short, slightly faster paced (although how much faster can you make Gary without causing explosions - heh) version that could be watched by people just wanting to pick up a few thoughts on wine that don't want to watch a full 20+ minute episode. We're also hoping that we can add a bit more in these short versions by having more visual things to think about - like the maps, and pics of what he's talking about.
Anyway, thanks for the input - shall definitely keep it in mind for the next one.
Glenn

make WLTV popular by doing what made it great in the first place...don't reinvent the wheel.

I'm a bit surprised at all the comments about the reserve show being cut too fast. I guess it's because all the current fans like the show exactly as it is.

I say if you're going to make a short version, then make it SHORT. I thought it was just about right. The graphics were good (except for the map, WTF) and matched Gary's humor and energy.

As an editor, I'd suggest getting rid of the white flashes. They're so 90's anyway. Just bite down and jump cut it. We all know it's an edited down version and the straight cut is hard and fast like new media should be.

Keep up the good work!

This was the first episode of WLTV I have ever seen. Coming from the perspective of a new viewer who is not much of a wine drinker, I was hoping to see more of Gary's antics and less of the rote information that I could do a Google search for.

Like "Top Gear", half the reason for watching is the host(s).

WLTV is already being distributed regularly on Revision3 and Wine Library TV's website. The reserve episode is for those people who don't feel like watching all of WLTV. Personally I'm going to watch Reserve more than the regular show.

Glenn, no doubt man, I bet episode #2 will rawk!

I think the episodes should be 10 minutes long, no pictures of maps (not necessary IMO), but I love the background music and everything else!

WTF!!! You can't take out him saying "Let's take a sniffy sniff!" That is his trademark saying. You gotta keep that in. I agree with others, too fast cut and took out too much. Some of the graphics were entertaining, but too much in other areas. Also having trouble reading what the new words say on the Wine Library Reserve screen on my iPod Touch.

True but Hammond and May would not be good hosts on an AM talk show, would they? Change Gary's show too much and many of us would not want to continue watching.

I've been a WLTV fan for some time. I love the format of the show for it's simplicity and genius (much like diggnation). I don't understand the point of the "reserve". The show's aren't too long, and the episode there now just feels like a A-D-D version of a regular show. I don't think it adds anything to WLTV.

Great to see Gary V on Rev3 though!

I don't understand the point of the "reserve". The show's aren't too long.

I think the point of the reserve is the fact that A LOT of people feel as if the show is too long. A lot of people would love to consume some wine knowledge and enjoy themselves, but can't watch 15-25 minutes every day. Reserve is for that demographic.

For the fans of the original show such as yourself, you can simply watch the regular version here on Revision3 or as usual on Wine Library TV.

If Wine Library Reserve isn't your thing, just keep watching the show like you have been. There is no mandatory rule that you must watch Wine Library Reserve :)

Hey AJ, is Rev3 always going to be a few episodes behind WLTV?

Or is there just going to be one WLTV a week and Gary will pick his favourite of the week to air?

I understand that, and think it's great to appeal to those other viewers. Would it be better, I wonder, if the shorter version was just one or two wines, or a separately shot version. My concern is the frenetic (in a bad way) editing, mixed with the already frenetic (in a great way) Gary would not be easily accessible for a new user.

Just got to watch a rough version of the 2nd episode of Wine Library Reserve, and I must say that it is much improved. Glenn took a lot of the comments made in the forum and truly kept them in mind when editing this together.

Big ups, I think you guys will like this better! It is especially good for new comers.

one thing puzzles me: What is the point of having WLTV on both rev3 and gary's site? seems a bit redundant to me, especially if rev3 is gonna be a few days behind...

Nice idea for the reserve though...

Whats the deal with the short episode? Gary was awesome on Internet superstar and I think he should have a longer show (IMO).

Here's my $0.05
- "New" show too hyped for what we can get at Gary's main site
- Editing way too rushed
- Too short
- Not very informative about wine in general

How to fix:
- Make show so it "starts over" with Wine Library TV. Have it introduce wine and present the history of wine. Show us newbs how to enjoy wine and become as interested as Gary
- Make show about 10-20 minutes long for starts and 1-2 shows a week
- Keep Rev3 show seperate from Gary's main show
- Like Totally Rad does with their movies and sometimes games, have Gary give us a heads up of wines that he may be reviewing in the Rev3 version of the show as suggested above

This has the potential to be a great show and very educational like Wine Library TV has been to its long devoted fans on his main show. You can't just "jump in" in the middle of his main show and expect everyone to know what he's talking about. A lot of us here are newcomers to wine and are new to Gary's podcast. The two shows should be seperate, but linked.

when i first started watching at wine library tv I thought for sure this guy was on some kind of drug, or if he wasn't, then he should be.
But now I know that Gary is just really passionate about his wines, and I respect that.
Vaynerchuk ROCKS!

production quality has become amazing
audio is great
these reserve shows are small enough that I can digest them daily
watching a full show that's been edited this way should be pretty groovy 2.

I would watch this show everyday of the week for the rest of my life and as much as I push, try different things i would still only watch this show regardless to what was on "TV"

We certainly are changing the wine world

Rock on

The editing is just awful - and there's a fundamental problem with the whole concept of this "reserve" show.

It's obviously cut down and edited to appeal to the diggnation crowd, but the diggnation crowd simply aren't going to be interested in wine - or even old enough to drink in it (in the US) for the most part.

The "reserve" / "normal" show is just confusing.
