What movies do you never think about, never boast about but when you come across it on netflix or on tv or whever you suddenly stop and really enjoy it.

I just realized twister is one of them for me. I dont know what it is about this movie, but every time i run across it i just get sucked in and its like a old worn in shoe or something. Just like it for some reason.

Anyone else got a movie or 2 like that?

Romy & Michelle's Highschool Reunion.

Though in hindsight, that might fall under: "guilty pleasure."

I love the movie Zoolander. It's just incredibly stupid, but it's so stupid... It's irresistable.

OMG, I love that movie! Mira Sorvino in this movie is so freaking cute.

Also, Clueless, She's All That, Bridget Jones' Diary, Muriel's Wedding, Thelma and Louise....hmmm, I sense a 'chick flick' theme here.....

Also, has anyone ever seen 'A Gun for Jennifer'? I saw this movie at a local film festival, and loved it. But I can't seem to find it anywhere. Perhaps I haven't looked hard enough. :)

The Sweetest Thing. I have it on DVD. Anytime it's on television I have to watch it. I know most of the lines. That film basically embodies a large facet of my sense of humor.

I am OBSESSED with both of those movies. For a while I wanted to replicate the coronation gown and robe from the end of the second as my wedding gown, and even bought ten yards of silk duchesse (with an e, not a misspelling) satin (re: uber expensive per yard) to make it, and spent a year searching for the source of the hand-embroidered silk used for the inset. Except Raven's presence in the second one annoyed the frak out of me. I might make Mia's gown from the end of the first for a friend's white-tie yacht wedding I'll be a bridesmaid in (Olga's letting me design and make all the dresses!!).

This could be the most embarrassing thing I ever reveal on the internet....

She's the man.

Yeahhh.

I hardly ever laugh out loud during comedies, but for some reason, parts in this movie made me lawl all over the place. I Love David Cross.

woohoo to real genius.

but I'm an old fart. I never pass up Paper Moon and/or Bonnie and Clyde. No matter WHAT. I should just buy them, I guess. They made the Depression look fun.

and if we add tv miniseries to the list, never pass up Shogun or The Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman.

I think my being female precludes me from being a gay man. I just like classic cinema. I also watch old game shows from the 50s, 60s and 70s.

You like men, right? So how do we know you aren't a gay man stuck in a woman's body? My (deceased) friend, Aaron, used to joke about being a well-endowed (long fingers) lesbian in a man's body. So maybe you're a gay man in a woman's body!!

For Instance, Phattty thinks I'm an old gay queen with erectile dysfunction, yet we still work on projects together. Little does he know I am a buxom, large breasted, heterosexual female, divorcee Milf of the horned up variety, with a penchant for slender young men with shoulder injuries in need of sponge baths.

Yes. I'm Joking!

Queen of the Damned...I have read all of Anne Rice and should be vehemently against this movie, and the acting is soo bad....but I can't turn the channel.

A Man for All Seasons, should be considered a classic more than it is.

Fat Man and Little Boy, all my friends go "what movie?"

OH OH, that reminds me. Never pass up Katherine Hepburn and Peter O'Toole in "the Lion in Winter" and also, "Excalibur" which, oddly has the wimp son from LIW as King Artuhur. Odd.

and speaking of Hepburn, NEVER pass up bringing up baby. OR, His Girl Friday, with Cary Grant. who was in Bringing Up Baby.
cary grant is hard to avoid any time he shows up on screen. Kinda like Harrison Ford. Channel surf, see Ford, stop and watch, get sucked in.

OMG, I once met a woman who said exactly that, that she was a gay man trapped in a womans body, which confused me because I assumed that just meant she liked men, like gay men do, but she clarified with specifics.... private message type specifics.

Ahh.. "What women are thinking" with mel gibson. The first shot in my mind is of mel in panty house with a cigarette hanging from his mouth. But it was a good movie to me and i have this weird attraction to helen hunt. I know she isnt super pretty, but there is something about her.

I'm not super attracted to her either, but I met her on the beach once and her abs were utterly amazing. Also, I saw that movie and was amused enough with it.

First film is great sequel was mediocre but has the scene where she walks out nude and says "You can kiss my ass" then rides away on the horse.

And I mentioned POTC3 and Spiderman3 and ID4 since I hear mostly people bash those films.

I like the first a lot more than the second. I like the second too but it has too many cheesy moments (i.e. the Raven moment with the singing at the bridal shower party), and it always seemed like Lord Nicholas was her really distant cousin or something. Jealous, I LOVE her dress at the ball in the first one.
