Thank god for that. We didn't need a nerds remake.
Thanks to the dot com movement, nerd are no longer total outcasts, and are socially acceptable :) ... even if some have questionalbe personal habits.

i definitely agree... i think they feel they need to appeal to the younger geek audience, but i agree with token... the internet has made geekdom a more socially acceptable thing since we can all get together and chat.

The campy 80's feel is part of what nakes Merds so special. Remaking it would be like remaking The Wizard of Oz!

I'm glad they shelved the project. Remaking classics or even comparing classic comedies to today's comedies is just ridiculous. When I saw the commercial for ACCEPTED, and they named it "TODAY'S ANIMAL HOUSE!" I'm sorry, nothing to this day remotely compares to Animal House.
NERDS is just great on its own. They should have a anniversary release of this movie to theaters. Now that's an idea.
