Well who knows when three will be in our hands but I'm plenty excited. I'll probably be installing Diablo 2 later today, as many others might be doing. Just curious if anyone wants to start some get togethers in Diablo. Granted we obviously can't have a guild but maybe we can use the forums and setup some times to hook up with each other for some hack & slash clicking action.

Man it's been so long since I've even used Blizzard net...

Now I have never played Diablo II but it's been hard not to follow the coverage of III and I have to admit it looks unbelievably epic. No chance it'll be for the Mac is it?

Actually I'm pretty sure they announced that 3 it's going to have a simultaneous release on the Mac.

That's awesome. I'm going to get Diablo II sometime this week to check it out. Not sure if it would be possible to play cross mac/pc platform but I'd love to.

Yeah I'm not sure if battlenet is cross platform but if you pick it up let me know. I was able to snag the Diablo Battlechest (Diablo 1, 2 and D2 expansion) pretty cheap not to long ago.

Diablo 2 can be classed as no less than th best PC game currently published.

If Blizzard had rereleased Diablo 2 on the PSP or DS (portable Diablo 2 = double awsomeness), I would have bought the DS or the PSP on the basis alone, providing it actuly translated well.

I spent so many hours playing Diablo 1 and 2. Co-op was always so much fun..

I'm starting the game again. Although I think my computer took a big snag trying to update through battle.net but if anyone wants to go through the game I'd be up for it.

I bought the battlechest awhile ago...but I still have never played any of them.

Wish I could buy the whole Blizzard game collection (except WoW) on Steam.

Ya, I'm installing again too... Just have to decide what I want to play. I had a Sorc and a Bowzon before, might try something new.

What would poeples thoughts be if Blizzard released Diablo 3 without any copy protection (http://www.petitiononline.com/cpdiablo/)?

Hmm weird. Something's getting messed up when I try to install Lord of Destruction. Going to try downloading new copies from Blizzard and see if it helps. Hopefully I'll have it installed tonight.

I'm off from work on Wednesday so I think that'll be the day I download it and jump right in. Having no experience with this type of game I'm sure it'll take me a while to be on par with you guys.

I played the hell out of Diablo I. Loved that game. But I never played Diablo II. With going away to college, I got out of gaming on PC for a while. But with Diablo III on the way--looking afuckingmazing I might add--I'm gonna probably get Diablo II and play through that this summer.

I'd definitely be up for co-oping with peeps from the forums. I'll be rusty though, it's been a while.

1) very doubtful

2) The game probably won't be release for another 3-4 years knowing how Blizzard delays until they think it is perfect.

I don't know. It wasn't too long between the announcement of Starcraft 2 and it's releasing this fall right?

I don't think it is out of the realm of possibility, with Blizzard stating that Diablo III will have a greater focus on co-op than Diablo II did I think they could justify a protection model that involved online registration for Battlenet use and the downloading of patches (ala Stardock) and leave the rest unprotected.

it works cross platform in warcraft3... so probably. Blizzard's pretty cool that way.

Starcraft 2 doesn't have an official release date yet, and even if it did Blizzard is well known for delaying games.

Anyone else having issues connecting to Battle.net US East server? It says it's down when I try to create a new character.

Diablo 2 is probably the best co-op game experience I've ever had. We used to put together a LAN party at the day care center a friend's mother ran. We'd roll in long after the kiddies went home and sat in the little chairs and played at the little desks and play into the wee hours of the night.

Even if Starcraft 2 isn't imminent, the thought of having that and Diablo 3 at more or less the same time is enough to get me starting to figure out how to get the purchase of a new rig approved by my wife!

If you full installed with the new patch you don't need any cd to play. But you need to first copy the D2Music.mpq and/or D2xMusic.mpq from the disk to your folder to do that.

I just started a barb on USEast named Tooproof

Incase anyone doesn't know this yet if you enter your cd keys from diablo 2, starcraft, etc into your Blizzard account you can download the games again at any time and I don't beleive they require a cd to play. I registered and downloaded Diablo 2 and LOD as I was having problems installing LOD. Registered Starcraft as well. Now I never have to worry about losing or scratching up the discs.

They aren't that bad. It's still pretty fun. I hooked it up on my 55 inch TV and I've been sitting out out the couch playing this. I plan on putting some more time into it tonight after work.

Glad to see that there will be more people picking up the game. I've been playing since I bought the battle chest about 5 years ago.I had only played the original until then. but still to this day the player community that surrounds the game in unbelievable. The players of Diablo II are not so much a group of fans, but more of a family.

I'll be hopping on battle.net some more. I've been creating games with Rev3 or TRS as the game name. Figured it'd be an easy way for fellow forum users to find a game in the US East server, which is the only one left right?

I run mine on the mac make sure that you use the installer tool on blizzards support page. Also you have to run it in software mode not openGL mode. There should be an option for settings when you load up the game. if there isn't hold down the option key while clicking on the startup icon.

I'm soo glad they added this. I registered my cd keys for SC, D2, and D2LoD yesterday. Though don't know if I'll install any of them soon, I've got other games I haven't beaten yet to play.

So apparently there is a known issue with MacBooks and 10.5.3 so I can't run Diablo II at this time. Glad I paid $40 for it lol. Well hopefully they can work with Apple and figure it out because I would like to play it.

Sad day.

When I run the installer tool it asks for a 16 digit game code. When I bought it off blizzard I was given like a 22 digit code. Any suggestions?

Nope not sure. I think both my keys are from my disks and they were both 16. it should have been a number with 4 sets of 4.

where did you go to buy this? there should be support on that site and they can give you a different code. The only thing I can think of is that it's a 32 digit number and its because it's the key for both D2 and LoD?
