About a month ago I had reason to believe that my longtime girlfriend was cheating on me so I installed a keylogger program on my computer (Familykeylogger). and yes i felt bad for doing so, but none the less i found out what I didn't want to know and dumped her. I have since removed the program and ran ad-aware and spy-bot to remove the reminants. The question that I ask is there a chance that this program even after deletion can be serving as some form of spyware or malware unknowingly against me, since it required administrator rights when installed.

If you uninstalled it and ran a spyware remover then you should be mostly clean. But check This (http://www.spywareremove.com/removeFamilyKeyLogger.html) list of components to see if there are remnants still on your system.

if you are worried about security then you probably shouldn't use your email address as your user name

That wouldn't be nearly as bad as using his password for his user name.
