The teaser site is driving me insane! I keep waiting for the music to start but it never does.

Awesome news. Though of course, the US probably won't get it for quite some time. Maybe next summer... :( I'm going to guess it'll go through the same changes as FF3 & 4 graphically, which would be so bad ass. I might even forgive Square for shutting down the fan made game. Need more info!

I never played Chrono Trigger when it came out. But my friend talked about it so much that I got Chrono Cross when that came out, and it rocked my world. So should I be excited by this?

I basically got a DS for the Final Fantasy remakes...this is like some kind of crazy super cherry on top that I really didn't see coming.

What is this exactly? A port of the SNES version, or are they remaking the game ala FF3?

I recommend downloading an SNES emulator (http://www.rom-world.com/file_emu.php?id=74) and playing the Rom (http://www.romnation.net/srv/roms/40424/snes/Chrono-Trigger-U.html).

(If you love it, and you feel like a thief, you can buy the DS port (or remake?) when it comes out or the PS1 version or something.)

Anyone who complains is a fool.(just saying as I have seen on some sites people whining it may not be 3d)
They beg and beg for an update then get one and some complain because now it may not be "TEH 3D". pfft great gameplay is great game play even if just minor changes or enhancements. Who cares it's going to be great and there is nothing wrong with 2D gameplay.

Bring it on. Oh and BTW granted no I never played but I have faith in Square I seriously doubt this will be messed up and getting it released again will get new fans (like me) and may fall in love plus old fans buying and you just may get enough sales for a sequel maybe even on Wii.

I first played FFVI on GBA and was amazed at such a incredible game and the music is amazing.

Now if only those heavy rumours about shenmue being ported to wii come true (similar reasons as stated about getting new fans and old fans...possibility to finally get the 3rd chapter to finish the saga) I will more than estatic.

Square Enix has gone ahead and made it official - Chrono Trigger is coming to the Nintendo DS in North America this holiday season! The game is a port of the classic Super Nintendo RPG, modified to take advantage of the DS's dual-screen presentation and touch screen functionality. They'll also be spicing things up a bit with an entirely new dungeon for the DS version, as well as wireless multiplayer battles.

Since it is a port, my main complaint is they will change it too much or convolute it with the DS dual screens and touch screen.

Though I still have the wish that the DS will get a classic style metroid game.

I will be rather disappointed if it turns out to be just a straight port from the SNES version. Add some new stuff, possibly the cut-scenes from the PS1 version and then maybe I'll be a little more excited. Don't get me wrong, I love Chrono Trigger, but I just think after all this time we should be getting more than just a port.

Yay I can have the experience of having a job again... nah it was alright. Not my favorite game, and I'd probably play Shenmue through once if they rereleased it.

As to Chrono Trigger it looks exciting. Now do I dust off my Super and play my cartridge version or just wait for this? More then likely wait cause portable RPG's seem to be the only way I play them now. JRPG battle's wore me down through all the Final Fantasy games and many more. Now I'm crossing my fingers for Super Mario RPG so I can beat that again.

I cannot wait for this--I've been wanting it SO bad. I have an SNES emulator on my DS so I can play this, but the emu barely works T_T

I was never very impressed with Chrono Trigger, I found it a little boring back in the day, and Chrono Cross was so amazing to me, that Ive just never desired to plug up the Trigger again.
Granted, this could be great, if they improved on some of the annoyances, but I doubt they'll tamper too much with it, so I'll prolly sit this one out. Let's get a Cross remake, and I'll be excited for sure.
