I've always felt the attraction of getting a tattoo. I've always thought I would like to do it. The problem is I can never think of something that I feel would fit my personality across the ages. So I've just never gotten anything done.

That was always a huge fear of mine. I remember the days after I got my tattoo I had this overwhelming sense of both excitement and regret. But I don't regret it in the slightest. It's a part of me, a part of me i'm extremely proud of.

Some advice....when an idea pops out at you, sit on it. For a long time. I've had friends who thought about their tats for years before doing them. The one I have now I thought about for 3 months and got more and more anxious to get it done. I thought about getting the g clef a couple months ago and just recently I've been feeling that itch again. The fire flower I'm still sitting on, and I'm even thinking of putting Buxy right under my star. Those are ones that will stay in the back of my mind for a while before getting them. Another tip...location location location. Make sure you're happy with where it's going. At the time I got the star, I was still pursuing a career in opera. They do not take too kindly to tattoos in that business. So my hip was perfect because it was discreet. I want to keep all tats in that area because I don't want to show it off too much, I don't have those kinds of balls.

You're smart to just chill and not make a rash decision. I paid for my ex's tat for his birthday, and he literally flipped some pages of the parlor's catalog, pointed somewhere and got what he was pointing at. This hideous brain with swords kind of thing. He regretted it within three months. Idiot.

Again, once I'm home and can take some decent pics, I will. The angles are off and the lighting's horrible, so you can't really get the full effect. But the video will be posted within the next couple of days and then you'll see.

Now, as for the blue dot, I was kinda hoping someone would get it right away. And last night, someone actually did. I wish I could say it was a math thing. That would make me really cool. But alas, I hate math and it hates me more.

There's this episode of Friends where Phoebe decides she wants a tattoo of a lily on her collarboneish area. The only problem is, once the needle touches her skin, she flips out and leaves the tattoo place. So all she's left with is a blue dot. She shows it off proudly and she says it's Earth from a great distance.

Now, why did I get this "tattoo"? Simple. My father HATES that I have tattoos and plan on getting more. So the day before I went to get the G Clef I was telling him about it, and, in a very sarcastic tone, he says to me, "Why don't you get the Phoebe tattoo while you're at it?" and I said, "Okay....I will. Just for you Dad." And he approves.

And Thundercat's opinion I'm unaware of, but Super_Jesus has seen both tatts very closely. He convinced me out of "f ucking up" my star tat. I had this new idea of making it into a nintendo totem pole of sorts, with the fire flower on top of it and the 1 up mushroom below it. I thought that was an awesome idea, he's convinced it's ruining the perfect tattoo. Therefore, I promised I wouldn't touch it. But wasn't that a great idea?
