So i don't know how to ask this without spoiling the twist in Fight Club, so er if you haven't read the book or seen the film, go watch it now then come back later, ok, they've gone, cool...

So I was watching a semi-crappy UK teen soap show (hollyoaks) where a mildly crazy goth type chap has a 'friend' who does bad things and causes trouble, but its fairly subtly done so that nobody else ever sees him, the twist that we can see a mile off of course is that this other character is all in his mind. it made me think of the aforementioned Palahniuk book/film...

So with our spoiler pants on, what other films/books/shows are there with this similar plot device? an imaginary/psychological projection/alternate identity/alter ego played as real type twist thing, i'm sure there's some out there i've seen but i just cant think - thanks guys...
