For those who saw Wall-E did you notice during the scene where Wall-E is following Eve and the music that plays is the same music from Star Wars when R2D2 is going thru the canyon on Tatooine right before he gets jumped by Jawa's. I also noticed that the sound guys from the movie are called Skywalker Sound. I remembered that scene after I saw Jeff's Twitt about Wall-E was R2D2 the movie.
Am I smoking crack or was that the same song?

you're right.
If we were all made of iron it would be ironic...oh wait, what was your question?
I didn't hear any similarity in the music.

I didn't notice the song, but did you notice that WALL•E had a Rex toy in his shelf of stuff.
Also, I'm fairly sure that the truck that EVE was scanning was the Pizza Planet truck.

There was a ton of little things like the mac start up noise
and how the wheel had a eye similar to HAL in 2001 a space odyssey
also they played the 2001ASO theme song when the captain was about to destroy it.

Orange Caution Cones: The Orange Cones from Toy Story can be found all over abandoned earth, and inside WALL-E’s truck. See photo below.
ok, that's stretching it unless there was something obvious about the cones themselves. I don't care how prominent they were in Toy Story or even if Pixar did it intentionally, they're far too common on roads to be an easter egg. Interesting read though.
So, am I the only one thinking Auto not only reminded them of HAL, but also the GLAD turrets from Portal?

i agree. A-113 very much so reminded me of HAL from 2001: a space oddessey.
and i am not sure about the music, but it would make sense.the sound guy from the film, as Dan said in this week's show, was Ben Burt and he was Lucas' sound guy on all the starwars flicks. and also, as a tidbit of triva, has done most of the sound for Speilberg and Lucas.... and yes, he is kinda my idol.

Auto reminded me a bit of that thing in Flight of the Navigator... Can't remember what it was called, haven't seen that movie in like 80 years.
