They're bringing 2001 to a local theatre of mine for a one-time showing late in August. I'm going to bring all my buddies along and it's going to be fantastic. I have never seen it.

I really would like to see 2001 on the big screen.
Here's a question, how many people under 30 watched the movie without realizing they didn't have video playback for the computers like they did for the Star Trek movies? It was always something I took for granted until I put two and two together and realized there were all these projectors and hand animated things going on there. That was kinda genius.

I would venture to say The Shining is the greatest film ever made, and the trailer was, as you said, "epic". The way the music cued in at the end; nearly orgasmic. I've been itching to watch it again, and I think I just might.
Kubrick, quite simply, is a genius. I haven't seen all of his films, but I've seen enough to make the claim that, in my opinion, he's the best. The only film he's made that I didn't enjoy, was, ironically enough (at least compared to the previous posts), 2001: A Space Odyssey. It just wasn't able to grab my attention. Maybe I should give it another shot.

Very cool trailer... channel 4 are the best network in the world at this. I have actually watched the 'film4' promos for ages while the channel is asleep... they make even bad movies seem so cool.

yes I've been watching idents on youtube wayyy too much. But that's what insomnia does to ya folks. :p
