om malik is more entertaining than "gator".
i'm sorry but the jokes are lame, the acting is lame and the character is dragging martin sargent (that imo, should be doing more episodes of web drifter - in wich i think he did a good job - instead of this) with him.

just my opinion.

I smell a troll. Your first post will really help your reputation here.

Yes, Gator isn't great all the time, but most of the time, he is hilarious. Why do you think the character is dragging Martin Sargent? They play well off each other.

Just ban him already. Obviously a troll that only signed up to start trouble.

Lot of newbie, troll behavior lately. Wonder if there is a "Project Mayhem" forming here.

Hey, there's no need for that.

Voicing an opinion on your first post is not trolling. Some people come on forums just to leave feedback, and because a view is not the popular one doesn't make it bad or wrong.

Though the name "gator_is_boring" does give a tinge of trolling.

This topic just gives more evidence as to why each user should have a minimum of ten posts before being allowed to create a topic.

That's an excellent idea

Yeah I actually have been wanting this for QUITE some time. Where any new user's posts have to be pre-approved, or users have to apply to be members, not just anyone join, that way we root out the trolls. I'm still looking around for add-ons and doodads for vBulletin to suggest in the next forum overhaul, so if you know of anything to suggest, PM me.

@esophagus - It really is :-/

A simple 10 post minimum before thread starting priveledges are granted would be more than enough.

No troll is going to go through the trouble of replying to 10 posts.

I thought Marty was lame.
He is the gimp with the cane.
He is the Keyser Soze of Revision3.

So someone who has a computer question and needs help can't post and get help, right? Think global, not just about trolls. BTW, I don't like gator either.

Personally, I think Martin is awesome. He does a killer job, and Internet Superstar could be EPIC based on the people he interviews, and how he interviews them. I also think Jay Speiden is quite funny, and a great match for Martin.

But...

I think it's high time to drop the act. It's gotten to the point for me, where the "story" behind each episode has just become a lame pretext and just something to fill in time until the interview. It's thinly-veiled and just really gets in the way of what is otherwise a great show that I watch every week without fail.

In all honesty, I think Gator was funnier back in the Infected days.

I do find the humor of Gator funny, when I take it individually and out of context of what is actually occurring in each episode. However, I do feel that the Gator act is getting a bit gimmicky and novel, and isn't really a necessity for the show. I must say though, Jay Speiden is brilliant on his own without Gator, and would make an awesome co-host for Internet Superstar by just being himself.

Gator and Martin are great. Though I do have to admit that Gator was alot funnier on the original infected podcasts before they changed it to video. If you don't care about Gator and never watched infected go back and listen to the first episodes of Infected. Once you know his background, you might like him more.

personally, Gator is awesome as stated, and as stated, Jay Spieden would be awesome as like a guest co host, but really the actually character Gator is irreplacable and really helps make Internet Superstar a good show, he adds fuel to the awesome fire

I think that Gator is a funny guy that brings a lot to the show, but I can see where you're coming from. Sometimes, I do get tired of feeling that he's playing too much of a character. It makes the show feel a bit scripted at times, and the show seems to lose its purpose because of the craziness they have to incorporate.

As much as I love the show, I sometimes wish they would make it a little more focused? I'd love to have the show focus on actual interviews with some funny bits interlaced.

You're lucky Marty killed Gator!

Gator would have (eventually) gotten around to opening up a can of internet rage WHOOPASS on ya!

R.I.P Gator
