So are you happy with the call? Lotta controvery around the juding scores. I've no opinion as I didn't see it and have only read a play-by-play. I congratulate Forrest though. This was a case for me of not caring, as I liked both fighters the same amount, I'd be happy if either won. A good fight is more important than who wins though... well, to those not in there.

I say it should have been a draw and rampage keeping the title. Even though I wanted Forest to win.

That's cool of you to say so despite your preference. What I'm hearing on sherdog rado right now is 47-47 = draw. I don't think 'draws' are something judges in this country consider though.

Yea..too be honest though I expected Rampage to when by TKO in rd 1 or 2. He took too long off hadn't had a fight in awhile I think he suffered from ring rust alittle.
Rematch should be a good one unless it ends up like Serra/St. Pierre 2. Total domination by Page

Who do you think Forrest should face first, to defend his belt ?

I have seen some people Machida or the Winner of Liddell/Evans. I am not sure. I think Rampage should fight Wanderlei and the winner gets title shot.

Jackson's manager is going to protest the decision. So I would expect a rematch pretty soon if it isn't overturned.

Without specific regard to this fight, I pretty much hate all the judges and 80% of the refs.
Most ppl are saying that forrest moving forward and being more active is what equates to a win in UFC rules, but the quentin did more damage, during those, 'suspicious' rounds.

Aren't most of the judges boxing judges and use boxing judging rules? If so they should not judge MMA.

No they're not using boxing rules . . were you joking? But yes, most of them were boxing judges or refs.
"Octagon control" is one of the things that Forrest won points on. Pride had it right when they combined points for 'aggression' and, 'effort to finish the fight'.
The worst thing about it is, it's the same judges taht are consistently wrong, over and over.
Herb Dean told me that the refs have a meeting after evry UFC, that night, and the athletic commision goes over what went wrong and what went right. Maybe nobody ever told glenn trobridge that he's a dismal disgrace to the sport, cus he's messed up some more fighter boys careers for life. Same with some of these refs.

I think the current system is a joke. I know they aren't using boxing rules but might as well be.
MMA should have retired fighters or something as Judges with an entired revamp of how things are scored.

UFC is especially a joke.
Most of all, it should be the same way across the board, for all MMA org's.

When UFC has knees to the head on the ground, then we'll be on track.
Lemme ask ya, how do you judge a submission attempt? Does the guy who attempted to put it on get the points, or does the guy who got out of it get the points? Or some other variation ?

Personally I think the person who puts it on should get points if it is locked in and not a half way sub that someone would never tap to. If the person is able to break out of it should also gets if it was locked in and they managed to break free I thinking maybe a tad more than the person who put it on.
I don't think I am making much sense hah

I know what you meant. No points for half ass subs, but points for putting the guy in serious trouble, and points to the guy for getting out of serious trouble.
Ahhh, the good old submission. It spereates the pros from the bloodthirsty redneck noobs.

Law enforcement sources tell us, Rampage was in a car crash near Newport Beach and then split the scene. Cops gave chase and eventually caught up and charged him with felony hit and run and felony evading arrest
Looks like a possible rematch will be on hold. :D

Right before you posted that, jacksons manager had stated that a rematch was already being scheduled, but you're probbly right, and now it's even worse. I hope he's not over.

After his release his friends called the police again and now he is under observation to see if he is mentally healthy or whatever.
I guess the loss pushed him over the edge.

Can I get this threads name changed to "MMA Talk" so I don't have to start new threads in the future. Since a couple of us like to talk MMA.
