Hi,
What Mac's will support dual displays? I have two 20" monitors.
I am thinking about waiting to get a mac when they release 10.5 or put out the 8 core mac pro's... any date on that?
Does anyone have the 2ghz mac pro now? what are the specs and how do you like it?
Thanks

Just get 2 graphic cards. Or a card with dual outport support. OS X supports dual display's and has done so for years. Just plug the 2 monitor's in and it should work automatically.
Leopard should be early 2007, no idea on 8 core mac's. Wait for Intel to release them first.

older "i" models (iMac, iBook) only supported mirroring, but there is something called Screen Spanning Doctor that hacks your mac so span works
I think now with the Core Duos all iMacs and all laptops support span.
The mini will not unless you can find some device and make it really sloppy
and of course the MacPro can have 4 monitors on it if you get enough graphic cards

I'm at work right now. I'm staring at the back of my office-mate's MAC. The video adapter has 2 DVI ports. I bet you can hook-up a dual display without the need for an extra adapter.

That statement has the dual properties of being 100% accurate and 100% useless. ;)

The fact that it's accurate means it has some uses though :)

Oh, I was just trying to be funny. I was amused at your statement because it is totally true that the ability to plug in two monitors depends on your video card. But knowing that doesn't give any insight to actually how to do it.
In Mathematics, it a well excepted axiom that any theorem which is true in any general sense is either completely vacuous or totally useless.

Is that what the manual says? :DMacs come with a manual? I thought it was just a one page flyer that showed you how to optimally place your Mac to faciliatate the fung shui flow - and then plug it all together and the shit just works :)

the original iMac was in the Guinness book for the shortest manual.
I think it went something like:
-Open box
-take out computer
-plug in
-connect ethernet for internet
-press power button
-enjoy
