I have to deal with hundreds of Mac's and I'm really not very impressed with the MacBook. It seems very sluggish and feels a little cheap (getting ready for the stream of hate). I'd say to everyone save a little more money and buy the MacBook Pro as it's a far nicer laptop.

I also deal with many hundreds, nay thousands of MacBooks a year for work. I repair them for a living. I have also owned MacBooks, a MacBook Air and a MacBook Pro. I wouldn't call this a stream of hate by any means at all, but I would have to disagree in my experience.
MacBooks are well built machines. While they can crack and flex more than their aluminium counterparts they also tend to protect the internals better. They last well as long as they aren't abused and so long as they are all spec'd up with memory they tend to run really well in my experience. The obvious down side is the video capabilities, however most "mainstream", "general" use it completely uneffected.
I love my 2 years with a MacBook as my main machine, and I would buy one again if I wasn't planning on doing so much more video editing now than I was back then.
