Anybody else try this? I got it for my shiny new black 8gig 3g model. It's free in the applications store. It's basically free satellite radio for the world. You can use your existing account. It even worked hooked up to my car stereo while I was driving! If you're near an open wi-fi signal, you can buy the song and download it straight to your iphone.

Only downside is, I suppose it would eat through your battery pretty fast... but you still ought to be able to get about 5 hours of play time out of it on a full charge, even without a car charger.

Midomi's pretty cool, if you don't mind looking like an idiot. If you sing or hum into your iphone, it supposedly can tell you what the song is, play you a sample, give you a youtube link to video of the song, and an itunes link to buy it.

I find that it's worthless if you hum into it, and about 50% accurate if you sing into it. Still, pretty neat.

haha it might seem biased since I work for CBS Radio but the AOL Radio app is killer. It lets you listen to all these really well programmed internet radio stations but also gives you access to ANY CBS Radio station in the country. So in the gym I could listen to like KROQ LA or KROQ Cleveland.

I've always wanted the radio in my iPod and this is it.

Don't have an iPhone yet (maybe soon, or maybe in '09), but the Pandora app makes me want an iPhone even more. 8/16GB of space becomes a little less of an issue when you got internet radio. I've always thought Pandora and iPhone would be the perfect mix.

Having used Pandora in the office a lot I found that it wasn't random enough. If you like listening to a particular artist channel you get the same songs every day.

Well i just downloaded crash bandicoot kart. Not a bad little game. It feel slike mario kart with crash characters. But more then that, the controls on the game are tight. Very well done, looking forward to some REAL games coming out, but these are a nice start.

Yeah, I got the aol radio thing, too. Haven't put it through its paces yet. I did notice that some of the stations weren't broadcasting. Do you know what's up with that? They had 3 comedy stations but none of them were up.

On a separate note, anybody else notice that futzing around with the GPS/google earth stuff SERIOUSLY drains the battery? I was scrolling through my hometown marking all my friends' houses, and it sapped the juice pretty hardcore. Power went down about 30% in about 30, 45 minutes.

I LOVEEE the pandora app.

I waited in line outside the big shiny 5th ave apple store in manhattan today for 2 1/2 hours to get my phone.

Unfortunately, I got a shitty sunburn.

When I saw the application, I decided to finally get an account. The iPhone app seemed to have a little issue for me on giving a thumbs up on some music. I thought I'd post my profile figure to share and get into new music by other's suggestions.

T-Shirt'd. Oh yes, Pandora. This is the lovely site I use TOR for, just so that I can access it.

Both apps seem pretty cool. Just read a review of both, older model 2G iPhones over edge advantage goes to Pandora. Overall just preference, but hell their both free. For myself some of my favorite stations are CBS/AOL, who knew, so I listen to AOL radio. Is this the future of radio, will more stations go this route? I sure hope so, long live radio and death to static.

As someone that works in radio I truly believe that this is the future of the industry. You'll see stations trying to "brand themselves" to be able to compete in the digital space. I feel CBS has done a pretty good job with this and I'm wondering if they had managed to corner the market and be the exclusive partner with AOL Radio because I see this potentially being a huge app/feature. The app actually one a developers award.
