Yep, I'd say there's a pretty good chance that that is a project involving Alex, lol.

Yeah... This is kinda old news now. I think he first made reference to the name Project Lore back in June when he linked to this twitter (http://twitter.com/projectlore) and someone else linked to projectlore.com which was then under password protection. Something else, the Whois shows it is owned by DECA, who doing Boing Boing, and Alex signed a deal with them late last year.

...and it's confirmed (http://twitter.com/alexalbrecht/statuses/859202845).
meh. I guess you should have some sort of interest in WOW to watch. I couldn't get into it.

I don't play WoW at all, but I've seen countless videos on youtube and clan sites about groups doing all sorts of these things which are kinda used as guide for other clans to do the large instances.
I dont understand why this is new/different, have they not done this for 4 years? Or is it the same, but just more organized which would be cool

I suppose the quality that this show has over the other guide videos is that Project Lore shows the players as well as their avatars. You get to see the guys talking and joking around together.
I wouldn't watch it just for the strategies - I can get those much faster from other sources.

I dugg it. Those guys are great. I haven't really played WoW in a while but it was fun to watch and made me wish I would have stuck with it. I think alex should look into getting up with the SWGEmu guys and help them out. Since he was such a big SWG fan.

I just watched the intro so far, but I dig it. Seems like a fun show I'd definitely watch, at least for a few episodes or until I got tired of the concept.

Just saw the intro and the first couple episodes. Not great as a guide since they speed up the in game footage, but very entertaining.

Alex! Dude! I know you're away and what not, but I got the twitter...
TELL ME you guys are going to have forums of some sort...
I need to get Popozow back into your guild. I got booted when you guys moved the lowbies to a new guild and haven't messaged one of the dudes to get back in.
I'm impressed. Beyond impressed. If you need anything from an audio producer, give me a shout.
BTW, I saw the interest in the Shammy spirit guide's in one of your blog posts...

Before blizz took it out, I tamed one of the beasties on my hunter, Shepherd, on Madoran server. Hopefully when WotLK comes out, I'll still have it in my stable and blizz won't remove it.
Keep up the good work!!!

My biggest thing is the laid back atmosphere.
A lot of the deals such as this are far to produced, and far too "informative", if you know what I mean.
I look forward to seeing this evolve.
Plus, it's Alex, like you said.

Oh thank you for moving me. I didn't realize there was already a thread.

I'll don the h-pants.
I can't stand WoW, and the idea of watching a show dedicated to gameplay footage of WoW is like watching a show dedicated to ass wiping techniques. Yeah it'll find an audience... I just don't wanna be it.

Im a fan of wow, but this isnt very good. If its trying to be a guide its not very good. Their running a level 60 instance with fairly geared level 70s so theres no challenge at all, they should just start at heroics.

OK, it's official, Alex is a genius!
He's managed to create a job where he gets to play WoW (without being a gold farmer) and hang out.
If only there was an audience who wanted to watch me get my ass handed to me in Metal Gear Online, I'd be set.

Alex Albrecht (Dr. Dark) is joined by three friends, Joshua Brentano (LyleLovett), Jerry Trainor (Goggins), and Zand Broumand (Dorkins), in the studio. They are accompanied by another friend Brandon Sato (Juggynaut) through a speaker box they call the “JuggyBox.” You may know Joshua Brentano from G4, where he is the supervising producer of Attack of the Show, or Jerry Trainor from the Nickelodeon show iCarly, where he plays the main character’s older brother Spencer.Maybe another link in the TRS/G4 puzzle... I certainly hope not. I really can't stand G4.

Then.. don't be?
I don't understand why people feel the need to comment on things they're uninterested in, and have no intention of viewing. It seems like typing for the sake of watching your words pop up on the screen so you can shout "Those are mine!!!"
Sitting out in the rain just so you can complain that it's raining...
I agree that taking well geared 70's thru a 60 instance isn't the way to go. But, this is a budding project that can and probably will evolve with constructive criticism. I don't think Alex has the time to lvl another 70, maybe good contributors involved with the guild could do similar instances and show it from, for lack of a better term, "proper perspective".

At the same time, I can understand the haters. It's a show about watching people play video games. I have to admit my interest has waned as I watched more of it. Not my thing, but that's not to say it's a bad idea either. I think these guys can pull it off.

I think it's great. Alex obviously loves WOW and so do a lot of other people. Good luck to him.
The only possible way I can see this affecting TRS is that hopefully this gives Alex an outlet for his WOW discussion. He talks about WOW a LOT on TRS. It is a video game so it's not out of place, I just feel like it's a little over-represented. I couldn't think of a better person to host a WOW releated show.

So, I don't play Wow, but I've dabbled in it a bit a couple times in the demo and stuff. This seemed cool for WoW heads but I was really lost in the first episode. I had no idea what they heck they were arguing about, and what the heck is a "tank and spank"?!?
rokov

what the heck is a "tank and spank"?!?
The tank(s) (warrior/paladin/enhancement shaman/rogue/feral druid/hunter's pet) keep the mob busy while the DPS (mage/hunter/warlock/balance druid/elemental shaman) spank (beat the #%$@ out of) it from a distance and the healer(s) (priest/restoration druid/restoration shaman) keeps everyone healthy.

Wish they were doing this a few years ago... the WoW well seems to be a bit dry for me, but hey if they still enjoy it more power to em, and who am I kidding I'll probably get sucked back in with Wrath.

EVERY time I log on, there's a new patch. >:O
I like the show. Their conversation while they're playing is funny even if you don't play WoW and understand what's going on.

ohhhhhhhh i get it. Thanks bobwise for explaining
I had no idea it actually shows the players, that changes what this is. Although I don't play WoW and would even go as far to say, I really don't like WoW, I will watch the first ep. just to see the player interactions. Alex is most funny to me when doing his impersonations or talking about his in-game experiences (like when he returned to SWG, which was golden btw)
Anyways, like I said, that completely changes what I thought this was and goodluck to Alex and the others on this.

All they're doing is playing WoW. Who even watches their friends play WoW? It's pretty boring in my opinion.

I can see why you think that. Did it occurr to you that there are 9million ppl playing this game, maybe one of them would find this interesting ?

It's an interesting idea but I didn't like how they would speed up so much of the game footage. It gave me a headache after a while.
I understand why they're doing it. I would just prefer it if they showed static screen caps that change every few seconds.

Let's be honest, who is the audience for this show?
It's pretty obvious that people who don't play WoW seem to not want it, and those of use who play it enough to even consider watching a show about it online aren't at all interested in 3 episodes of Hellfire Ramparts on normal with a group of 70s.
Step it up to heroic at the very least, preferably try to cover some raid content sooner rather than later.
Or better yet, get a group of people and go do some old-school raid dungeons like Naxxramas. Content that's not overly challenging, but still interesting and most people haven't done.

It's possible they started something overly easy at first to get things down and set a tone. I'd probably be interested in watching if I'd ever played WoW...as it is I watch the screen and think "I've no idea what any of that is"

Yea to me I enjoy it (enough) to watch it. I used to play wow, have a few characters around 25 to 30. So Watching these guys that high level sorta want to get me playing again and such.

There is another WoW web TV series thing from a year ago. It's called 'on warcraft'. I've not watched any of either show but it looks similar.

Prettymuch my point. The only people that the content would interest are the people that never hit the level cap. And those people are usually not the same type of people that are willing to watch a podcast on the subject.

Thought I'd necro this thread. If anybody else felt like me at the start of this podcast, give it another shot.
Their coverage of WotLK beta, and their increased experience has made it something that's actually got value for more than just the most casual players.

I agree. Finding out about the profession bonus made me rearrange character professions and leveling them before the expansion. I've been watching the show more now being level 70 and starting to tank heroics and Kara. It's cool to have some tips and strategies especially for group leaders on new instances.

Love watching Lore. As a former player it gives me happiness to watch the show. Through it I get my fill, and happy that the time sink that was wow can be enjoyed in short episodes.
