Cooking to video tips

Alex and Heather so inspired me I decided to film my own vidblog (http://www.cucabrazuca.com). And in doing so I quickly found out how difficult this stuff is. Cooking and speaking to the camera is not easy, and with food you're not always able to do another take (unless you want to waste a lot of food).

Yet the two Alt-chicken-controllers seem so at ease. Any tips you can give? How about equipment list? Your images look so good an sharp - what camera do you use, etc.

I would appreciate any tips.
