So I picked up a PS3 with the primary intent of watching Blu-ray movies. After getting it home, I found out I can't connect it via wireless using WPA/WPA2 with a complex password. It works if I use a simple password like "password". If you use a complex password the key exchange times out.
So I called Sony, who said "try it until it works" or revert to WEP. So that's no help. When I asked for a level 2 support tech, I was told they declined to speak to me as they couldn't help. When I said that wasn't acceptable they hung up on me. Now You might think this was an accident - but this happened 4 different times, and they had my home phone # in case we were disconnected. They never called back.
Just so you don't think its my WAP - my Wii, AppleTv and laptop are all connecting just fine. The PS3 reports a signal strength of 100%. I have redone the key multiple times (over 20) to make sure it wasn't a typo, and as I said if I go to a simple password it works.
I am defining a complex password as letters (upper & lower) & numbers (no special characters in length greater then 25 characters. As I said every other device in the house connects - no problem. No, I don't want to go wired.
So I have two questions:
1) How can I get the PS3 to connect so I can take advantage BD Live?
2) How do I get the world to know that Sony hangs up on its customers and refuses to support its products?
Thanks in advance!
