How does THAT work...

Of all the cool fire tricks Brian does, the one at the 1:35 mark on this vid confuses me. How can a flame be thrown? It must be attatched to a little something to burn? Right,? Huh? Hmmm? Tasty bowl of flame seems odd, too.

Ha! That's a test segment I put together for the folks over at the food network. That video is what led to this appearance on "paula's party"

I wish that Brian could light his hair on fire and put it out --- without injury of course.

That would actually be kind of sweet, put in a false spike that you could tear out (bonus for some blood) and then light it on fire and incorporate it into the mix!!!

I believe it's talked about in the professionals guide to eating fire.

I think he's actually removing part of the wick throwing it in the air and eating it, probably tastes like crap, but it's an amazing effect (although in the demo it looks as if he's palming something.)

oh, wait: THAT'S the part you're interested in? that's just a cotton ball. try it! :)

PS - my lawyer says you shouldn't try it. So don't try it.

PPS - but try it. (j/k)

PPPS - (not j/k)

PPPPS - make sure it's 100% cotton, or the synthetics will burn you

PPPPPS - maybe you should just buy the book after all.

How do you go with the TSA when you travel? I guess you need to buy fluids when you get into town.

"Sorry sir, you can't travel with that bowl of fire."
"Hang on - I'm almost done ... want some? Its really good fire. Austin has some of the best fire in the US and I'm not going to waste it."

yeah, we have it built into the contract usually that they need to provide the fuel for the fire eating.

A few years back....maybe 02-03ish...SAC brought you to Pitt(in KS not PA), I had just joined the board, and they put you in the dungeon beneath the cafeteria so we couldn't do any of the fire stuff.

The show was great, you had the really big guy strap you into the straight jacket (you also did the bedtime story with him), but I still feel a little cheated.

I even worked stage crew at the NACA nationals in cincy when you were Emcee of a showcase....and no fire. I am 0 for 2 in Brian making fire his bitch!!!

I remember that show! Wasn't it like ridiculously cold that night?

Define cold, I grew up in MN so ridiculously cold has a whole different meaning.

It was a bit chilly that night, and your flight was delayed (and we're 2 hrs from any airport) so you barely made it in time for set-up. The show still went well, other than the whole sans fire thingy.
