WiFi connection question, please help!

I'm trying to get the optimal speeds for my gaming consoles and I was wondering if there is a way to set up my modem/router to give the best or should i say strongest connection to my PS3/Xbox 360? I have a SBC DSL 2wire 1000sw modem/router. Any help would be greatly appreciated. A how to guide would be even better.

Ideally you would use a ethernet cable, that will give the the best results. Providing there isn't any thing interfering with the wireless signal (2.4Ghz videos senders, cordless phones, other APs), the difference between the Ethernet cable and wireless connections won't be major or, probably, humanly noticeable.
