As I sit here watching The Usual Suspects, I can't help but think "I wish I didn't know the ending." What movies were spoiled for you when someone spilled the beans on the plot?

Well that's just messed up. I'm glad I order mine online. :D

I will never need to see The Crying Game. Although I'm pretty sure I'll never want to.

Funny story... I was watching "Lilo and Stitch" for the first time, and in the intro they mention Stitch's experiment number. I was pissed until I watched the movie, thinking they'd put a spoiler in the intro! LOL

The one I'm still pissed about to this day when it's been almost 10 years...the Sixth Sense. My mom comes home from the movie theater and tells me the entire movie plot. The worst part? When it comes out on dvd 6 months later she's completely forgotten that she told me the ending and watches it with me. Then when the big reveal comes she looks at me all excited like, "So?!" and I'm like, "Yeah mom, you told me the ending. Because of that it's ruined." and she got so upset.

I can't really think of a movie off the top of my head, but this asshole spoiled Knights of the Old Republic for me.

I ruined the village for someone. But we were analyzing it in class so it's her own fault.

A similar thing n my english class a week after it came out. We were talking about a book and someone was like "It's sorta like that movie the Village...*SPOILER*". No one really cared though, because it was The Village...

I can't think of any movies, and I've only requested one game to be spoiled for me (Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories) and that's only because I lost my game and wasn't going to be bothered to play through it again.

Come to think of it, I've had lots of games spoiled for me. Oh well.

Still, you don't put the alternate ending of a game into the previews!!!

The star was revenge of the sith game was released before the movie, I played it and it totally ruined the whole mace windu fight and stuff for me. Completed the game in like 5 hours and returned it anyway.

It took me forever to see Star Wars (all the original 3) and some asshole spoiled it for me as soon as Darth Vader first walked on screen. I was about to beat the crap out of him because I had avoided spoilers up until that point and he just ruined it. I also had The Usual Suspects ruined for me, which really ruined the entire movie.

Identity.

The funny thing about The Sixth Sense is I thought it was spoiled for me. I hadn't seen it and told a friend who had that I didn't want to see it. She asked me why and I told her because the ending was ruined for me. She pauses and I tell her that I'd read in Entertainment Weekly that the big reveal was that Bruce Willis...was actually a woman (well that's what it said). My buddy bust out laughing and assured me that my information was wrong..movie surprise intact.

someone ruined Fight Club for me, but it is still one of my favorite movies. a good movie does not hinge completely on a single spoiler and can stand alone as a great piece of work.

George Lucas, ruined episodes I-III(even though i haven't seen episode III, yet). You make episodes IV-VI first and already tell me Anakin Skywalker is Darth Vader. Why do you need to tell the story of soemthing we sorta already know the ending too?

I don't htink anybody has really ever spoiled a movie for me that I actually wanted to see. Like mvyfriend told me about the ending to The Village. I wasn't interested in seeing the movie, so whatever.

Somebody ruined Vertigo for me and I never really got into it. But I saw Rope the at the same time, so the night was redeemed.

I completely forgot that the first time I watched Fight Club, I already knew the twist ending. It didn't ruin the movie too much for me, because it really allowed me to look at the movie and see things like how others reacted when "Jack" is talking with Tyler.

Serenity got ruined for me. The whole time I'm watching I'm just thinking ... He's gonna die.

the last couple scary movies have made me want to stab myself in the eyes. they're anti funny to me and when I watch them some kind of opisite-of-laughter-ting happens to me that is really unpleasant.

I've ruined a few movies for myself by watching them when drunk. Afterwards, I know the basic story but can tell I wasn't as involved as I would've normally been.

Yeah I can't decide if I ruined Magnolia for myself by being high while seeing it, or made it better. It could go either way.

I saw the texas chainsaw massacre (new verison) while Blazed and I must say it was better watching it normally. I just laughed at every time some one was scaried or got killed.

Similar thing in my English class too re: The Village. Our teacher gathered us around at the end of the day and basically gave us a scene-by-scene rundown of the movie, and was all "but the coolest thing, right, was that *SPOILER*! It was awesome!" Only one guy actually cared that she ruined it, lol. He was so pissed!

Also, later that week, Bryce Dallas Howard was on The Panel (Australian late night talk show) and was asked a question that, by answering "I can't say, it'll spoil the movie", ironically, spoiled the movie.

I had The Village spoiled for me, but I think it may have made it better because the entire movie I was trying to figure out how they were going to pull it off.

While we were in the lobby for Fight Club, some douche from the earlier screening yells on his way out: "THEY ARE THE SAME GUY!!!"

I forgot about it until about 10 minutes before the reveal and that REALLY sucked.

You should have beat that guy senseless...

I kinda spoiled Fight Club for myself. I was watching it on dvd, but I was so tired that weekend that I kept falling asleep and waking up on a different parts confused but thinking I'd gotten the gist of it. Finally, I tried to watch again the next night with my husband and fell asleep again. I woke up at the last scene giving up, ready to return the dvd and asked hubby what happened. He told me and I didn't believe him! I watched it for myself and was blown away.

Star Wars - Empire Strikes Back...

WTF?? Vader is Lukes father???? Totally spoiled the first three movies for me. J/K :D

BTW - I saw the first Star Wars at a drive in with my parents when I was 8. Double feature with Freaky Friday (the original movie, not the remake). someone said the best way to watch the Star Wars movies is 4, 5, (flashback after Vader reveals he is Luke dad), 1, 2, 3, 6. Makes sense.

Spoilers suck, but once you know the ending, it can make watching the movie again even better - Usual Suspects, Fight Club, and Memento are three that are even better second time around.

When I first read some of the comments about the Star Wars Ep 1-3 being spoiled by 4-6 I dismissed them. But in way they are correct. Two of the big moments in the original trilogy are these twists:

1.) Vader: I am your father

2.) Yoda: there is another.

These were great moments that no one saw coming. There were not any moments like that in Ep 1-3. I don't want to rehash this tired subject, but these movies had no great moments, just some cool scenes.

I also saw Episode 4 at a drive-in. It was my fourth birthday. And I avoided having 5 spoiled because I saw it opening weekend. I was also in denial until the end of Jedi. I was convinced for three years that Vader was lying to Luke. I should have known then that Lucas was not to be trusted! :-)

I kinda wish I had watched Audition without knowing the ending, but then again I never would have watched it if I hadn't known about what made it so great.
