we have a new home brewed machine with Vista home installed (64 bit). When we try to install Crysis a "user control" window opens then shuts down the installer. We only have one account set up, and it has full admin status. Any ideas what is going on? We have directX installed. It seems as though the OS doesn't think we have the "right" to install.

Can you run not pad as an admin and save a text file in the root OS file system?

Tree pretty. I'm sorry, but I don't know what that means.

Right click the notepad icon and select run as administrator. Enter some text, try and save it in the top directory of the drive that Windows is installed on. If it's not running as an admin you will get an access denied error.

Oh . . . okay. Thanks. Did solve the problem though, I had never spent anytime in vista before installing it in this machine. Turns out I just had to go around '"autoinstall" to the discs setup file and it did the trick. Thanks again for your help.
