does any1 know how to get a monitor to 320x240 resolution, or a way to run games at that resolution? i need it to play mgs but my monitor only goes down to 800x600 . I figure if there is no easy way to do it i could just use a VM but that seems like a bit of a hassle, any suggestions?

All monitors should support 320x240. That is usually the resolution that computers display the post and BIOS screens in. May be MGS is telling the monitor to use a refresh rate it doesn't support.

First off 320x240 would look terrible, it is the resolution of a fifth gen ipod. I dont see why MGS wouldn't run at 800x600.
But if you must know you can change the dword value for the reg keys in
HKEY_CURRENT_CONFIG\System\CurrentControlSet\Contr ol\VIDEO\{Hexadecimal number for your primary video card}\0000

DefaultSettings.XResolution
140 would be the hex value for 320
Defaultsettings.YResolution
F0 would be the hex value for 240

Don't forget to reboot. Dont forget to backup your registry when you make any edits incase you fubar it.

P.S. Im not responsible if any thing breaks :P

yea the original metal gear solid. its starts a 320x240 and my monitor just says "input not supported" so i cant even change the resolution in the menu (i tried changing the .cfg i just get a run time error) and i would rather not mess with my registry. also about that refresh rate is there any way to change that it only says i have 59-60 .

Solid, the playstation one or the original Metal Gear? Anyway, how are you running it? Emulator?
