No offense Patrick, but I'd rather watch V than you. I grok that she was on the road last week, but all the dailies have Patrick.

We need V, we want her now!

The dailies and the weekly are all shot in the same day. So if she misses our shoot day, Patrick reads all the dailies. Things will be back to normal tomorrow, though. :)

Hope she hits up Schwartz's Hebrew Deli (http://www.schwartzsdeli.com/), and grabs a couple of Unibroues (La Maudite or Fin du Monde) while she is up there.

I'm jealous. But, those Unibroue beers have really good market penetration in the states. So, I would avoid them if I was there. If I was in Montreal, I would be drink McAuslan, or better yet I would visit some of the world class Brew-pubs there.

Everyone misses Veronica, but like tokenuser mentioned, that's what twitter is for. :)

And seriously, am I the only one that appreciates Veronica, but also likes Patrick? I used to watch Tekzilla way before V was around. idk. Maybe it's just me.

You;re right about the selection. The less marketable and delicious beers like 'Raftman" are impossible to find in the US.

Better on-tap? That's not quite true. Many of the Unibrou beers are classic styles meant to be fermented "on-lees" and bottle conditioned. They simply aren't as good when served on tap. Many of the the "boutique" beers are not available on tap and the stronger beers age and travel really well.

On the other hand, McAuslan's St Ambroise Oatmeal stout is better than Guiness just out of the bottle and is much better when served on-tap over nitrogen and you're only going to find that in Montreal. You'll never want to drink Guiness again.

No, you aren't. I've bought many products for both myself and for clients simply based on the fact that Patrick recommended them. If Patrick likes a [router, graphics card, sound card, insert other hardware here], no further research is needed...his word is all the research I need.

Wow. lol. I like the man, but I think I have been bested. Although, I definitely take his word on things like that into consideration when thinking of buying [router, graphics card, sound card, insert other hardware here].

The thing I like about Patrick Norton, and why I put so much stock in his recommendations, is he doesn't try to blow smoke. If he knows the answer, he gives it best he can. If he doesn't know the answer, he admits he doesn't know and find someone else who does. And if he gives an answer he thinks is right and then later finds out it isn't, he'll admit it. That's the same thing I like about Leo Laporte, Robert Heron, and yes, Veronica Belmont, too. I think Roger Chang is honest like that too, but he isn't on camera that much (hint hint, Roger!).

If they really don't know, I'd rather hear that than an answer made up on the spot using marketing jargon. When they review a product, I want to hear *their* opinions and experience, not a repeat of the advertising brochure. And with 30 years of professional experience in both hardware and software, I can detect bulls**t almost before someone opens their mouth ;)

Patrick is a good co-host. They play off each other well. I do wish he'd learn some new cliches.

Actually, the dailies with V don't do much for me, not much better than when patrick does them. No chance to see her brains and quick wit, nor his either.

Been watching patrick since the TSS days then when he was on DL.TV and tekzilla since ep 1.
When V became ther perm co cost just made the show twice as good for me as we finally had a couple hosts that worked perfect and thought it was awesome when Leo passed the torch as Pat and V are the new Kate and Leo.

Also
@davmoo I have been the same way about product recommendations.

Ryo isn't dead just stuck in cave for the last 20 years. :p

Honestly though really wanted the prologue speech but it's too big for a sig.

"He shall appear from a far eastern land across the sea.
A young man who has yet to know his potential.
This potential is a power that can destroy him or realize his will.
His courage shall determine his fate.
The path he must traverse, fraught with adversity.
I await whilst praying, for this destiny predetermined since ancient times.
The pitch-black night unfolds with the morning star as it's only light.
And thus,the saga begins... "

Have enjoyed a bottle of Fin du Monde in Portland on occasion, and found a bottle in Tokyo ($$).

Not so much with the triple-fermented beers here in Portland, OR, but it more than holds its own with Montreal as a beer city:

Portland, Oregon is the center of Beerdom in on the western hemisphere. But, Belgium is the center of Beerdom on Earth.

I think I've tried the Oatmeal stout, but I'll have to try it again. There's a great microbrewery on St Denis that has some delicious stouts too.

I'm going to have to check out some more of those microbreweries you listed over the summer I think :)

Actually looks like it's already on your list, Amère a Boire. I've been there and Brutopia before so I'll just have to check out the other 3. Brutopia has some EXCELLENT cheap beers, but if anyone goes there avoid the Raspberry beer, it's far far too fruity

I have to say, I just started watching Tekzilla again and am very happy with the two hosts. I, like a number of others, have been watching Patrick since back in the day and the addition of Veronica has been absolutely kickass. Jessica is nice, but at the end of the day, she was not a good fit for that show. Veronica's offbeat quirky humor and obvious geekiness(?) are incredibly endearing.

It's weird saying it, but seeing these people (specifically those I used to watch on techtv/ztv/g4/whateverthehell) on a regular basis, gives me a level of comfort that I can't even get while cupping my balls from time-to-time.... and that shit is like mother's milk... so.... yeah.

Interestingly enough... I really don't plan out anything, as I'm more a stream of consciousness kind of guy, which has its positives and negatives. It's just like my audio blogs, I just am off the cuff and I guess weird.... probably, off-putting too... but, that's the magic that is this guy.

I like how cupping one's balls is 'slightly homosexual'.... I'll have to ponder this.

Nonsense, man. Cupping one's balls isn't homosexual. You're not cupping another man's balls. It's like saying grabbing one's... well you know. Is homosexual. And if that's the case, well, lots of dudes would be gay, you know what I'm saying? Za-zing! :D

And I think I know what you mean by "stream of conciousness" I wonder if I'm that way myself.

Don't worry, it's cool, just hold my hand and I'll guide you through the shattered lands of internet with my Ranger wilderness skill +7... of course, at this point, I believe my other hand will be in its place of honor.

Honestly.... Al Bundy really knew what time it was.

it was not just that one post, many of your other posts have been in some form related to fondling male genitalia.

Poor, poor darknessgp...

I'm referring to an action that involves only myself and... well... myself (not counting my father(every night after work on the couch in his underwear)... the source of my affliction...sort of like a vampire or werewolf... or the clap). Not only that, but there was never any mention of sexual satisfaction, nor sexual identification from said action. Accordingly, this is pointing to an inescapable conclusion.... you are projecting. But, that's okay, we all do it from time-to-time, even the great and powerful me.

I put the definition of the word fondling here for everyone's enjoyment:

fon·dle (fndl)
v. fon·dled, fon·dling, fon·dles
v.tr.
1. To handle, stroke, or caress lovingly. See Synonyms at caress.
2. Obsolete To treat with indulgence and solicitude; pamper.
v.intr.
To show fondness or affection by caressing.

Awesome.

And as we all spiral out of control, I wish you a good day, sir.... I said good day, sir!

PS - You know, if I put half as much effort into my professional success, as I did into all the posts and blogs I've done.... I'd be one rich douche, instead of a poor one... unfortunately, I'd still be a douche.

My puppy is cuterer than your puppy.

This was shot about 2 months ago. Pepper (14 week old Shih Tzu) will no longer sit still long enough for a photo to be taken, and has grown to be about 4lb now (40-50% her final weight).

That last puppy pic is perhaps the cutest puppy I've ever seen.

On a side tangent.... puppies have a disturbing tendency to look like really old men... and seeing as they have crinkly faces, lay around a lot, the vacant stare, and poop without warning... it all falls into place.
