Turns out the rumor was started by van damme himself and he lied!

that's stupid. he just didn't know how big a deal it was to say something like that and how it'd blow up over the net. this in no way changes my opinion on the greatness that is Van Damme.
his name cannot be tarnished!!!

This would be somewhat interesting news, but the fact that it was Van Damme that did the lying makes it totally awesome/hilarious.
