I just finally got to watch this movie and i have to say, especially considering the time frame it was made it, this was a fantastic movie. Usually when i watch a movie this old i have to look past how society has changed and how the jokes or points are made, but i tell ya i didnt here. This movie has as much punch to it today as any other movie today. The cast it it is awesome too.
If you havent seen it yet here is a few clips. I suggest you netflix it.
This is the russian president and the us president having nice chat while the full force of the US military is on the way to decimate russia and they cant call them back.

Such a great movie. Peter Sellers was a comic genius.

Almost any movie with Peter Sellers is good. Dr. Strangelove will always be topical and funny - what else do you want in a comedy about the end of the world.

Also, i didnt realize itll now, but this movie is really a part of out culture in america. I mean i have seen parts of that movie in other movies and referenced in many conversasions over the years. A lot of times not as a topic to be explained but as already known. Like the dude riding the rocket for example. I have seen that in other movies and stuff for years and wasnt till right now that i knew it was from this movie.
For example.

Easily one of my favorites. I'm a bit of a Kubrick freak, though.

Had to study this for an adaptation class I took last semester. We studied this film and the source material it came from, before writing our own adaptations of other materials. Absolutely loved this film. The source material, however, was boring as hell.

I'm also a huge fan of Kubrick and Dr. Strangelove is definitely one of his best.

Oh it's great, a wonderful parody and old school comedy film. I'd say it's up there with Caddyshack and Slapshot for my favorite comedies ever made.
