They did that a few weeks ago. It was hilarious, one of their best challenges so far.

In the grand pantheon of Top Gear Challenges, actually, I found this one to not be all that exciting. Sure, the GT-R is an amazing car (I'm a Corvette fan, don't tell the others), but like Jeremy said, you don't get enough of the car on city streets or highways. Fast-forward to last week's episode, where they actually test the GT-R, that was a helluva ride.

Of all the Top Gear Challenge rances, I think I liked the Ferrari 612 one best (SE5 EP8).
As for the true "challenge" episodes, the Vintage Italian special is without question one of my favorites (SE7 EP4).
I don't know about the "hand built" engines Nissan is using. They talked endlessly about how each one was basically unique and well that means that engine is going to be fuckall expensive if you need any major work done. Hell if you wreck it, I'll bet that you have to replace the engine as a whole.
Well at least the Corvette beat the Porsche tonight and that's the last Top Gear till autumn.

Agreed, the Nissan was very impressive around a track, I still thought the race was entertaining enough especially when May and Hammond got separated. I also thought it was cool, in a geeky kind of way, that the read outs on it's LCD were made by the Gran Turismo guys.

Last night's episode was very good as well. When they roll in with the Spitfires and Aston's I was laughing my ass off... also Stig..I mean James, vs the Touring Car driver. Just goes to show how amazing 'James' is.

The season finale was awesome too. They flew in on jets then went to the Aston martin DB7 I beleive. It made me remember why I loved the show.
I almost found myself grunting like Tim "The Tool Man" Taylor when watching.

So, for people who've been watching this show for longer than me, does the car ever lose in these races? I haven't seen one yet where it does.

The car lost a race when captain slow drove a car against jeremy in a boat, hamster on a bike, and the stig using public transportation(underground and busses) in a race across london to get to heathrow airport. I think the results were hammond, clarkston, stig, and captain slow.

The double decker race kicked ass too. Also Jay Kay beating Cowell was great. This was a great episode to close the first half of the season on. They had some great races and reviews - that Grunbert was UGLY though.
