i'm trying to get a repair order for my 360 but they asked me what color the power supply is, and I have no idea because I'm at work...

What's the normal color it's supposed to be?

I have the 3 flashing RROD so what color should I tell them the light is? They won't help me otherwise.

The indicator the power supply should be green, but since you have the RRoD, then it should be orange

Niceee. I thought it was supposed to be orange but I couldn't remember. Good thing I didn't say green.

I've been though a couple of 360s due to red ring of death, I think i'm onto my 5th now.

my advice would be when on the phone try to get the name of the person dealing with your request and note down all the dates i.e. when you called them, when you sent it off etc.

Also for a speedier process try to get through to an administrator/team leader if you are having problems

Hope that helps, the ms team have always been pretty friendly and helpful whenever i've had a problem

I'd just like to remind everybody that the $34.99 xbox in the banner ad at the top of this page is a scam.

I'm on my second Elite 360.

I don't use adblock either. Those stupid games that are in flash games amuse me sometimes.

I'm curious - is the RROD a failing of all models of the 360? Is it just as prevalent in the "first generation" as in the latest?
Can't really hate on M$ since they take responsibility for their failings and fix the problem (no matter how inconvenient). They should partner with Netflicks further and put 360s in their distribution centers so they can ship out replacements "the next day" ;).

I got mine back in less than two weeks from the time I asked for them to send me the box. It was crazy. 6 days after I sent it out to them a new one was back, waiting for me at the purolator depot.

Just got off the phone with an actually extremely helpful customer service rep for xbox.

i have a shipping label I have to print out and the turn-around time is only 2 - 3 weeks which is pretty damn good if I do say so myself.

I had no idea that you could extend your warranty for as many years as you want either, that's pretty convienient. And a month of free xbox live? yay.

I think it's only free if you have a gold membership currently to make up. Just a word of caution, I would check up on my status and my 360 would disappear. Then occasionally come back and go away until I got my new one. It was kind of hectic waiting for it to deliver. I didn't want to miss it and something happen where I didn't get it. Also, I had issues with my downloaded arcade games and such if I didn't have internet access. Just some things from my experience.

Edit: Their customer service was really nice and helpful. Just everything after was a pain IMO. I think Nintendo has better from what my room mate told me. Sold him my old Gamecube and it wouldn't read games. He shipped it to Nintendo and they fixed it and shipped it back. Only costed $5 or so and they didn't check any warranty or anything.

MS I think has a pretty good auto customer service process. The thing you talk to is pretty efficient baout getting you to the righ tplace when you want to do soemthing and he rarely makes the hearing mistakes that other computer systems tend to do.

Yeah but I don't like talking to automated customer service, period. Plus I had already done it once today, I should have been given a different number to bypass it since I already had my reference number.

However, when I get those automated dudes I usually just keep on repeating myself until it doesn't understand me and transfers me to a customer service rep.

Second Elite? I was told they didn't have problems? Was it RROD or something else?
